Various Roads, Birmingham - Temporary Prohibition Of Through Traffic For Highway Maintenance Works To
What is happening?

(VARIOUS ROADS, BIRMINGHAM) (190326) (TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF THROUGH TRAFFIC) ORDER 2026
NOTICE is hereby given that Birmingham City Council intend, not less than seven days from the date of this Notice, to make an Order the effect of which will be:
(i) to prohibit any vehicle from proceeding in either direction along CHESTER ROAD, PYPE HAYES between its junction with Spitfire Island and its junction with Newport Road.
(ii) to prohibit any vehicle from proceeding in either direction along NEWPORT ROAD, BROMFORD AND HODGE HILL between its junction with Chester Road and its junction with Castle Bromwich Interchange.
(iii) to prohibit any vehicle from proceeding in either direction along LINDRIDGE DRIVE, SUTTON REDDICAP between its junction with Minworth Island and its junction with Cottage Lane.
(iv) to prohibit any vehicle from proceeding in either direction along CHURCHILL ROAD between its junction with Newdigate Road and its junction with Springfield Road.
The temporary Order is required to enable highway maintenance works to be carried out in safety.
Alternative routes for vehicles affected by this Order will be signposted and access to frontages will be maintained as necessary.
These prohibitions shall apply only during such times and to such extent as shall from time to time be indicated by traffic signs prescribed by The Traffic Signs Regulations and General Directions 2016.
The Order will come into operation on 27th March 2026 and will remain in force for a period of 18 months or until the works are completed whichever is the earlier.
