(READING ROAD & TEMPLE PARK ROAD, SOUTH SHIELDS)
ORDER 2026

South Tyneside Council proposes to make an Order under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 and all other enabling powers. The effect of the Order will be to:-
REVOKE No Waiting Mon-Fri 8am-5pm on:- Reading Rd south side from a point 86.4m north east of the school entrance for 22.1m in a north easterly direction; Temple Park Rd south side from a point 9m west of its junction with Temple Park Rd loop road westwards for 106m. No Waiting Mon-Fri 8am-9.30 & 3pm-4pm on Birchington Ave (East Back) west side from a point 8m north of its junction with Temple Park Rd in a northerly direction for 20m. No Loading Mon-Fri 8am-9.30am & 3pm-4pm on Birchington Ave (East Back) west side from its junction with Temple Park Rd for 10m. School Entrance Marking Mon-Fri 8am-5pm on Temple Park Rd south side from a point on the loop road 5m south of its junction with Temple Park Rd northwards then eastwards for 43.56m and Temple Park Rd (loop road) east side from a point 5m south of its junction with Temple Park Rd southwards for 25.56m and west side from a point on Temple Park Rd 5m west of its junction with the western junction of Temple Park Rd loop road eastwards then southwards for 43.56m.
INTRODUCE No Waiting At Any Time and No Loading/Unloading At Any Time on :-
Aston St both sides from its junction with Reading Rd in a northerly direction for a 10m; Dulverton Ave both sides from its junction with Reading Rd in a northerly direction for 10m; Lismore Ave both sides from its junction with Reading Rd in a northerly direction for 10m; Reading Rd both sides from its junction with Mortimer Rd in a westerly direction for 13m and north side from a point 2m east of its junction with Aston St to a point 10m west of its junction with Aston St; from a point 3m east of its junction with Dulverton Ave to a point 10m west of its junction with Dulverton Ave; from a point 10m east of its junction with Wantage St to a point 10m west of its junction with Wantage St, from a point 10m east of its junction with St Oswins St to a point 10m west of its junction with St Oswins St and from a point 10m east of its junction with Lismore Ave to a point 10m west of its junction with Lismore Ave; St Oswins St both sides from its junction with Reading Rd in a northerly direction for 10m; Temple Park Rd south side from a point 30m west of its junction with Temple Park Rd loop road in a westerly direction for 72m; Wantage St both sides from its junction with Reading Rd in a northerly direction for 10m. No Waiting Mon-Fri 8am-5pm on Reading Rd south side from a point 86.4m north east of the school entrance for 39m in a north easterly direction. No Waiting and No Loading Mon–Fri 8am-5pm on Reading Rd south side from a point 12.5m west of the school entrance in a westerly direction for 113m. School Entrance Marking Mon-Fri 8am-5pm on Temple Park Rd south side from a point on the loop road 5m south of its junction with Temple Park Rd northwards then loop road eastwards for 31.56m and Temple Park Rd (loop road) east side from a point 5m south of its junction with Temple Park Rd southwards for 31.56m and west side from a point on Temple Park Rd 5m west of its junction with the western junction of Temple Park Rd loop road eastwards then southwards for 31.56m.
Full details of these proposals are contained in the draft order which, together with a plan showing the lengths of road affected and a statement of the Council’s reasons for proposing to make the Order, may be inspected from Monday to Friday between the hours of 10am and 2pm at the Town Hall at the address below.
