VARIATION NOTICE


NOTICE is hereby given that Oswestry Town Council proposes to vary the charges to be paid in connection with the use of off-street parking places in accordance with the above Order under Section 35 (C) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 and the variation is due to come into effect on the 6th day of April 2026.

The effect of the Variation will be to amend the charges to be paid pursuant to the Oswestry Town Council (Off Street Parking Places) (Regulation of Use) Order 1996 relating to the Horsemarket Car Park Oswestry Shropshire so that:-

(a) the scale of charges for parking Mondays to Saturdays ( excluding Bank Holidays) between 08:00 hours to 18:00 hours shall be:
 for a period up to 1 hour : £1.20 (currently £1.00),
 for a period between 1 and 2 hours : £1.80 (currently
£1.50),
 for a period between 2 and 4 hours : £2.40 ( currently
£2.00);
 for a period between 4 and 6 hours: £3.60, ( currently
£3.00)
 for a period over 6 hours: £7.20 (currently £6.00); and
(b) the above charges shall also apply for parking a prescribed vehicle in a space designated for the parking of vehicles of disabled persons plus one additional hour free of charge so the scale of charges shall be:
 for a period of up to 2 hours: £1.20;
 for a period between 2 and 3 hours : £1.80;
 for a period between 3 and 5 hours : £2.40;
 for a period between 5 and 7 hours: £3.60
 for a period over 7 hours: £7.20 ; and
(c) the Excess Charge payable in accordance with the provisions of the above Order shall remain £80.00 or £40.00 if paid within 72 hours of issue; and
(d) the charge on Sundays and Bank Holidays shall be £1.20 ( currently £1.00) for parking for the period between 08.00 hours to 18.00 hours.
