SECTION 14 (1) TEMPORARY PROHIBITION
OF THROUGH TRAFFIC KIRKLANDS LANE,
YOULTHORPE AND GOWTHORPE
AND GOWTHORPE LANE, GOWTHORPE
Notice is hereby given that East Riding of Yorkshire
Council intends not less than seven days from the
date of this notice to make an Order, the effect of
which will be to prohibit any vehicle from proceeding
along the entire lengths of Kirklands Lane, Youlthorpe
and Gowthorpe and Gowthorpe Lane, Gowthorpe
commencing 7 April 2026 at 08.00 hours until
13 April 2026 at 17.00 hours for the purposes of
installing ducting and chambers for the new BDUK
fibre network on behalf of Quickline Communications
works.
The road closure is necessary to enable the works to
be carried out in a manner consistent with ensuring the
safety of the public. The Order is valid for 18 months,
but it is anticipated that the works will be completed
within seven days. The alternative route for traffic
affected by the road closure will be via:
Hatkill Lane, A166 Bridlington Road, A166 Clay Hill and
The Balk, Full Sutton CP, Bishop Wilton CP, Skirpenbeck
CP, Wolds Weighton Ward. The diversion route will be
signed at the time of closure. The road will be closed
to all through traffic but access will be maintained for
residents, emergency vehicles and pedestrians.
