Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2026

On 27 February 2026, Surrey County Council made the abovementioned
Temporary Traffic Order under Section 14(1) of the Road
Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect of which will be to prohibit vehicles from entering or proceeding in that length of:- (a) Egham By- Pass (A30) Egham slip road at Runnymede Junction leading to the A30 slip road (leading to M25 Junction 13); and (b) Windsor Road (A308) Egham link road connecting the eastbound A308 to the A30 slip road (leading to M25 Junction 13).

Alternative route – Non-HGV: A308 (The Glanty, The Causeway and Staines Bridge) and B376 (Bridge Street and Wraysbury Road). HGV: A308 (Windsor Road, Straight Road, Albert Road Kings Road, Osbourne Road, Frances Road, Alma Road, Goslar Way and Royal Windsor Way), A332 (Royal Windsor Way, Slough Road and Windsor Road), A412 (Albert Street, Yew Tree Road and Uxbridge Road), A4 (Wellington Street, Sussex Place, London Road and Colnbrook By-Pass) and A3044 (Stanwell Moor Road).

This Order is required to enable M Group Highways to facilitate resurfacing works on the western quadrant of M25 Junction 13 roundabout and associated works. These works are anticipated to be carried out during the 12-month period of operation of this Temporary Order that commences on 18 March 2026 for 3 nights between the hours of 10.00pm and 6.00am. 

Advanced warning signs will be displayed and the temporary closure will only operate when the relevant traffic signs are displayed. Access for emergency services will be maintained at all times. Access for residents, pedestrians, cyclists and equestrians will be maintained at all times.

Extension to “The Surrey County Council
Various Roads and Townpaths in Guildford
Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order (No.5) 2025”

“The Surrey County Council Various Roads and Townpaths in Guildford Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order (No.5) 2025” which was made under Sections 14(1), 14(7) and 15(8)(b) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, on the grounds that works were being or were proposed to be executed on, or near, the roads and pathways described below.

This Order which came into operation on 10 September 2025 and was due to expire on 9 March 2026, has been extended by Surrey County Council until 10 September 2026.

The effect of the Order will be to temporarily:- (a) prohibit pedestrians and/or other traffic proceeding by any other means from entering or proceeding in the lengths of townpaths in Schedule 1 to this Notice; 
(b) prohibit vehicles from entering or proceeding in the lengths of roads specified in Schedule 2 to this Notice; and 
(c) suspend “The Surrey County Council Woodbridge Meadows (D4003) and Walnut Tree Close (D4003) Guildford (One-Way System and Contra-Flow Cycle Lane) (No.1) Traffic Regulation Order 2023” that imposes a one-way system for vehicular traffic in (D4003) Walnut Tree Close and (D4003) Woodbridge Meadows, Guildford, in its entirety.

This Order is required to facilitate the removal and installation of a new footbridge over the railway line and crane operation works for, or on behalf of Network Rail. These works are anticipated to be carried out as soon as possible in the additional 6-month period of operation of the Temporary Order. 

Works include day and night works. Daily hours are between the hours of 7am and 6pm, and for the night works, between 9pm and 6am. Advanced warning signs will be displayed and the temporary closures, which are anticipated to be in operation 24 hours per day, and the temporary suspension of the one-way system will only operate when the relevant traffic signs are displayed and to the extent indicated by those signs. 

For Schedule 1: Due to the nature of the works, there will be no access through the closure area and pedestrians will be required to use the signed diversion route. No sole means of access will be affected by this closure. 

For Schedule 2: During crane lifting operations, there will be no vehicular access maintained through the closure area. Access for pedestrians and dismounted cyclists will be maintained.

Schedule 1
(1) the entire length of Townpath from Woodbridge Road to Woodbridge Meadows (D4003) Guildford. Alternative Route for Pedestrians: (1) (A322) Woodbridge Road, and Woodbridge Meadows; (2) Walnut Tree Close, (A322) Bridge Street, (A322) Onslow Street, and (A322) Woodbridge Road.

(2) the entire length of Townpath from Woodbridge Road to Woodbridge Meadows (T7080) Guildford, otherwise known as Public Footpath No.6 (Guildford). Alternative Route for Pedestrians: (1) (A322) Woodbridge Road, and Woodbridge Meadows; (2) Walnut Tree Close, (A322) Bridge Street, (A322) Onslow Street, and (A322) Woodbridge Road.

Schedule 2
(1) that length of Walnut Tree Close (D4003) Guildford as extends from its junction with (X4003) Riverview to its junction with (D4003) Woodbridge Meadows.

(2) that length of Woodbridge Meadows (D4003) Guildford as extends from its junction with (D4003) Walnut Tree Close to its junction with the access into the property known as “Guildford Post Office Sorting Office”.

St Johns Drive (D3826) Walton On Thames
Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2026

On 04 March 2026 Surrey County Council made the above mentioned Temporary Traffic Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect of which will be to prohibit all traffic from entering or proceeding in that length of St Johns Drive (D3826) Walton On Thames as extends from a point in line with the common boundary between property No.19-21 and No.18 St Johns Drive to a point in line with the common boundary between No.16 and No.15 St Johns Drive.

Alternative Route: St Johns Drive, Cromwell Road, Sidney Road, Stuart Avenue, Cottimore Lane, Ambleside Avenue, and St Johns Drive, or this route in reverse. This Order is required to facilitate telecom pole replacement works for, or on behalf of Chevron TM. 

These works are anticipated to be carried out over 1 day, between the hours of 9am and 2.30pm, during the 12-month period of operation of this Order which will commence on 17 March 2026. Advanced warning signs will be displayed, and the temporary closure will only operate when the relevant traffic signs are displayed. 

Access for emergency service vehicles, pedestrians and dismounted cyclists will be maintained at all times. All other vehicular traffic will be required to use the signed diversion route. No sole access will be affected by this closure.

School Hill (D82) Seale
Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2026

On 04 March 2026 Surrey County Council made the above mentioned Temporary Traffic Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect of which will be to prohibit vehicles from entering or proceeding in the entire length of School Hill (D82) Seale. 

Alternative Route: Elstead Road. This Order is required to facilitate telecom pole replacement works for, or on behalf of BT Openreach. 

These works are anticipated to be carried out over 1 day, between the hours of 9.30am and 3.30pm, during the 12-month period of operation of this Temporary Order that commences on 17 March 2026. 

Advanced warning signs will be displayed, and the temporary closure will only operate when the relevant traffic signs are displayed. 

Access to premises within the affected length of road, including access by emergency service vehicles to these properties will be maintained at all times, via the banksmen on site, as will access for pedestrians and dismounted cyclists.

West End Lane (D6890) Esher
Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2026

On 04 March 2026 Surrey County Council made the above mentioned Temporary Traffic Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect of which will be to prohibit vehicles from entering or proceeding in the entire length of West End Lane (D6890) Esher. 

Alternative Route: Hawkshill Way, and (A307) Portsmouth Road, or this route in reverse. This Order is required to facilitate telecom cabling works for, or on behalf of BT Openreach. 

These works are anticipated to be carried out over 1 day, between the hours of 9.30am and 3.30pm, during the 12-month period of operation of this Temporary Order that commences on 16 March 2026. 

Advanced warning signs will be displayed, and the temporary closure will only operate when the relevant traffic signs are displayed. 

Access to premises within the affected length of road, including access by emergency service vehicles to these properties will be maintained at all times, via the banksmen on site, as will access for pedestrians and dismounted cyclists.

Lower Moushill Lane (D149) Milford
Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2026

On 04 March 2026 Surrey County Council made the above mentioned Temporary Traffic Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect of which will be to prohibit vehicles from entering or proceeding in that length of Lower Moushill Lane (D149) Milford as extends from its junction with (A283) Portsmouth Road to its junction with (X149) Lower Moushill Lane. 

This Order is required to facilitate spine cabling works for, or on behalf of BT Openreach. 

These works are anticipated to be carried out over 5 days, between the hours of 7am and 7pm, during the 12-month period of operation of this Temporary Order that commences on 16 March 2026. 

Advanced warning signs will be displayed and the temporary closure, which is anticipated to be in operation 24 hours per day will only operate when the relevant traffic signs are displayed. 

Access to premises within the affected length of road, including access by emergency service vehicles to these properties will be maintained at all times, via the banksmen on site, as will access for pedestrians and dismounted cyclists. 

There is no alternative route for this closure.

D4013 Great Oaks Park, Guildford
Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2026

On 4 March 2026 Surrey County Council made the above mentioned Temporary Traffic Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (as amended) the effect of which will be to prohibit vehicles from entering or proceeding in the entire length of D4013 Great Oaks Park, Guildford (between A3100 London Road and Gosden Hill Road). 

This Order is required to enable Surrey County Council to facilitate footway reconstruction works and/or fine milling works and/or major maintenance works, which is anticipated to be completed as soon as possible within the 18 month period of operation of this Order which will commence on 9 March 2026. 

Advanced warning signs will be displayed and the temporary closure will only operate when the relevant traffic signs are displayed. Any vehicle found to be obstructing the highway during these works will be removed to a suitable location outside the limits of the works after all reasonable methods have been undertaken to identify and contact the vehicle’s owner. 

Access to premises within the affected length of road, including access for emergency service vehicles to these properties, will be maintained when safe to do so and if necessary via the signed diversion route. 

The Council are satisfied that, in accordance with Section 3(2)(a) and 3(2)(b) of the Act, vehicular access to and from premises, including emergency service vehicle access, within the length of roads specified or accessible only therefrom may be restricted in order to avoid danger to persons or other traffic using the road and/or for preventing the likelihood of any such danger arising. 

Alternative Route – D4013 Gosden Hill Road, D4013 Glendale Drive, D4013 Winterhill Way and A3100 London Road.

D66 Wyke Lane, Ash
Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2026

On 4 March 2026 Surrey County Council made the above mentioned Temporary Traffic Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (as amended) the effect of which will be to prohibit vehicles, including cyclists, from entering or proceeding in the entire length of D66 Wyke Lane, Ash (between A323 Guildford Road and Pound Farm Lane). 

This Order is required to enable Surrey County Council to facilitate surface dressing and/or major maintenance works, which is anticipated to be completed as soon as possible within the 18 month period of operation of this Order which will commence on 6 March 2026. Advanced warning signs will be displayed and the temporary closure will only operate when the relevant traffic signs are displayed. 

In the event that it is necessary to restrict any access at any time under Section 3 of the Act, the road can only be closed for a maximum of 8 hours in any 24-hour period. 

Any vehicle found to be obstructing the highway during these works will be removed to a suitable location outside the limits of the works after all reasonable methods have been undertaken to identify and contact the vehicle’s owner. 

Access to premises within the affected length of road, including access for emergency service vehicles to these properties, will be maintained when safe to do so and if necessary via the signed diversion route. 

Access for pedestrians will be permitted by the gatemen when safe to do so. Access for cyclists will not be maintained and will be required to follow the signed diversion route/directed by the gatemen on-site. 

Alternative Route – D67 Harpers Road and A323 Guildford Road;

D3906 Ellesmere Road, Weybridge
Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2026

On 4 March 2026 Surrey County Council made the above mentioned Temporary Traffic Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (as amended) the effect of which will be to prohibit vehicles, including cyclists, from entering or proceeding in that length of D3906 Ellesmere Road, Weybridge which extends from its junction with A317 Queens Road to its junction with Farleton Close. 

This Order is required to enable Surrey County Council to facilitate surface dressing and/or major maintenance works, which is anticipated to be completed as soon as possible within the 18 month period of operation of this Order which will commence on 6 March 2026.

Advanced warning signs will be displayed and the temporary closure will only operate when the relevant traffic signs are displayed. In the event that it is necessary to restrict any access at any time under Section 3 of the Act, the road can only be closed for a maximum of 8 hours in any 24-hour period. 

Any vehicle found to be obstructing the highway during these works will be removed to a suitable location outside the limits of the works after all reasonable methods have been undertaken to identify and contact the vehicle’s owner.

Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2026

On 4 March 2026 Surrey County Council made the above mentioned Temporary Traffic Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (as amended) the effect of which will be to 

prohibit vehicles from entering or proceeding in the lengths of roads specified in the Schedule to this Notice. This Order is required to enable Surrey County Council to facilitate major maintenance works, which is anticipated to be completed as soon as possible within the 18 month period of operation of this Order which will commence on 6 March 2026. 

Advanced warning signs will be displayed and the temporary closure will only operate when the relevant traffic signs are displayed. In the event that it is necessary to restrict any access at any time under Section 3 of the Act, the road can only be closed for a maximum of 8 hours in any 24-hour period. Any vehicle found to be obstructing the highway during these works will be removed to a suitable location outside the limits of the works after all reasonable methods have been undertaken to identify and contact the vehicle’s owner.

Schedule
1. that length of The Glanty (A308) Egham which comprises the entire length of the circulatory carriageway situated at or adjacent to the junctions of A308 The Glanty, D3136 Woodhaw and D7304 The Glanty and 15m either side of the roundabout junction;

2. that length of The Glanty (D7304) Egham which extends from its roundabout junction with A308 The Glanty southwards for a distance of 10m; and

3. that length of Woodhaw (D3136) Egham which extends from its junction with A308 The Glanty northwards for a distance of 10m.

Church Road (A286) and Station Lane (C32) Milford
Temporary Traffic Management Order 2026

Surrey County Council propose to make the above-mentioned Temporary Order under Section 14(1) and 14(7) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect of which will be to (1) prohibit vehicles (a) from entering or proceeding in that length of Church Road (A286) Milford as extends from the centreline of its junction with (C32) Station Lane to its junction at the roundabout with (A3100) Portsmouth Road in any direction other than north-eastwards. 

Alternative Route – A286 Church Road; A3100 Portsmouth Road; A283 Cherry Tree Road; and A286 Church Road; (b) that are travelling north-west bound on (C32) Station Lane from turning right onto (A286) Church Road. Alternative Route – A286 Church Road; A283 Cherry Tree Road; and A3100 Portsmouth Road; (c) from travelling or proceeding at a speed greater than 20mph in that length of Station Lane (C32) Milford as extends from its junction with (A286) Church Road south eastwards for a distance of 340 metres; and (2) suspend any speed limit Order that imposes a 40mph speed limit in that length of (C32) Station Lane specified in part (c) above. 

This 12-month Temporary Traffic Order which commences on 27 March 2026 is required to facilitate excavation works and/or HV electrical supply connection works and/or any other associated works to be carried out by, or on behalf of Connect It Utility Services within the length of road described in this notice. 

These works are anticipated to be carried out as soon as possible over 16 days between the hours of 8am and 5pm. Advanced warning signs will be displayed and the temporary closure, which is anticipated to be in operation 24 hours per day, will operate only when the relevant traffic signs are displayed. 

Access for Residents, the emergency services, pedestrians and dismounted cyclists will be maintained at all times, if necessary, via the diversion routes. All other traffic will be required to use the signed diversion route.

Vicarage Road (B388) and Pooley Green Road (C125) Egham
Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2026

Surrey County Council propose to make the above-mentioned Temporary Traffic Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect of which will be to:- 1. prohibit vehicles from entering or proceeding in that length of – (a) Vicarage Road (B388) Egham as extends from its junction with Pooley Green Road (C125) to its junction with High Street (B388); and (b) Pooley Green Road (C125) Egham as extends from its junction with Vicarage Road (B388) to its junction with Pooley Green Road Service Road (D3150); and 2. suspend “Surrey County Council Vicarage Road (B388) Egham Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2025” insofar as it affects the length of road described in 1.(a).

Alternative route – (a) B388 (Vicarage Road), B3376 (Thorpe Lea Road), A308 (Causeway and The Glanty) and B338 (The Avenue and High Street), or this route in reverse. (b) B338 (Vicarage Road), B3376 (New Wickham Lane and Thorpe Lea Road) and Pooley Green Road, or this route in reverse.

This Order is required to enable Cadent to facilitate gas main replacement and associated works. These works are anticipated to be carried out during the 12-month period of operation of this Temporary Order that commences on 28 March 2026 for 2 months between the hours of 7.00am and 5.00pm. 

Advanced warning signs will be displayed and the temporary closure, which is anticipated to be in operation for 24-hours per day, will only operate when the relevant traffic signs are displayed. 

Access for emergency services, pedestrians, dismounted cyclists and dismounted equestrians will be maintained at all times.

Holmbury Hill Road (D280) Holmbury St Mary
Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2026

Surrey County Council propose to make the above-mentioned Temporary Traffic Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect of which will be to prohibit vehicles from entering or proceeding in that length of Holmbury Hill Road (D280) Holmbury St Mary as extends from the access for the property known as “The Wilderness” to the access for the Mullard Space Science Laboratory.

Alternative route – Holmbury Road, B2127 (Ockley Road), B2126 (Holmbury Lane, Miles Hill and Horsham Road) and Pitland Street, or this route in reverse.

This Order is required to enable Chevron TM to facilitate CCTV surveys and associated works. 

These works are anticipated to be carried out during the 12-month period of operation of this Temporary Order that commences on 1 April 2026 for 1 day between the hours of 9.00am and 4.00pm. 

Advanced warning signs will be displayed and the temporary closure will only operate when the relevant traffic signs are displayed. 

Access for emergency services, residents, pedestrians, cyclists and equestrians will be maintained at all times.

Coombelands Lane (D3095) Addlestone
Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2026

Surrey County Council propose to make the above-mentioned Temporary Traffic Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect of which will be to prohibit vehicles from entering or proceeding in that length of Coombelands Lane (D3095) Addlestone as extends from its junction of Ongar Hill (C128) to its junction with Franklands Drive (D3095).

Alternative route – Ongar Hill and Franklands Drive, or this route in reverse.

This Order is required to enable Cadent to facilitate gas main replacement and associated works. These works are anticipated to be carried out during the 12-month period of operation of this Temporary Order that commences on 30 March 2026 for 3 weeks between the hours of 8.00am and 5.00pm. 

Advanced warning signs will be displayed and the temporary closure, which is anticipated to be in operation for 24-hours per day, will only operate when the relevant traffic signs are displayed. 

Access for pedestrians, dismounted cyclists and dismounted equestrians will be maintained at all times.

Trumps Green Road (C10) Virginia Water
Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2026

Surrey County Council propose to make the above-mentioned Temporary Traffic Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect of which will be to prohibit vehicles from entering or proceeding in that length of Trumps Green Road (C10) Virginia Water as extends from the northern boundary of the property known as “Merchant House” to its junction with Beechwood Road (X96104). 

Alternative route – Trumps Green Road, Wellington Avenue, B389 (Christchurch Road), A30 (London Road), B383 (Chobham Road), B386 (Chertsey Road) and Chobham Lane, or this route in reverse.

This Order is required to enable Affinity Water to facilitate a water connection and associated works. 

These works are anticipated to be carried out during the 12-month period of operation of this Temporary Order that commences on 1 April 2026 for 10 days between the hours of 8.00am and 6.00pm. Advanced warning signs will be displayed and the temporary closure, which is anticipated to be in operation for 24-hours per day, will only operate when the relevant traffic signs are displayed. 

Access for emergency services to properties within the closure as well as for residents, pedestrians, dismounted cyclists and dismounted equestrians will be maintained at all times.

Leatherhead Road (A244) Oxshott
Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2026

Surrey County Council propose to make the above-mentioned Temporary Traffic Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect of which will be to prohibit vehicles from entering or proceeding in that length of Leatherhead Road (A244) Oxshott as extends from a point 10 metres north to a point 10 metres south of the centreline of its junction with Danes Way (X16021). 

Alternative route – A244 (Leatherhead Road and Oxshott Road), A243 (Kingston Road and Leatherhead Road), B280 (Fairoak Lane) and A244 (Warren Lane and High Street), or this route in reverse. 

This Order is required to enable Thames Water to facilitate pipe replacement and associated works. 

These works are anticipated to be carried out during the 12-month period of operation of this Temporary Order that commences on 28 March 2026 for 2 weeks between the hours of 8.00am and 7.00pm. 

Advanced warning signs will be displayed and the temporary closure, which is anticipated to be in operation for 24-hours per day, will only operate when the relevant traffic signs are displayed. 

Access for pedestrians, dismounted cyclists and dismounted equestrians will be maintained at all times.

Fairmile Lane (C157) Cobham
Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2026

Surrey County Council propose to make the above mentioned Temporary Traffic Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 the effect of which will be to prohibit vehicles from entering or proceeding in that length of Fairmile Lane (C157) Cobham as extends from its junction with (D6880) Leigh Hill Road to its junction with (X16044) Fairmile Avenue. 

Alternative Route: Fairmile Lane, (A307) Portsmouth Road, (A245) Between Streets, (A245) High Street, (A245) Mill Road, (A245) Stoke Road, and Fairmile Lane, or this route in reverse. This Order is required to facilitate electrical connection works for, or on behalf of ALS Civil Engineers. 

These works are anticipated to be carried out over 3 days, between the hours of 8am and 6pm, within 12-month period of operation of this Order which will commence on 31 March 2026. 

Advanced warning signs will be displayed and the temporary closure, which is anticipated to be in operation 24 hours per day, will only operate when the relevant traffic signs are displayed. 

Access to premises within the affected length of road, including access by emergency service vehicles to these properties will be maintained at all times, via road plates, as will access for pedestrians and dismounted cyclists.

Surrey County Council propose to make the above-mentioned Temporary Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulations Act 1984, the effect of which will be to prohibit vehicles from entering or proceeding in that length of; (a) the southbound carriageway of Bridge Street (B376) Staines Upon Thames as extends from its junction with (B376) Church Street to its junction with (A308) Clarence Street; (b) prohibit vehicles from exiting (X67546) Bridge Close from turning left into (B376) Bridge Street; (c) prohibit vehicles from exiting (A308) Staines Bridge from turning left into (B376) Bridge Street; (d) prohibit vehicles from exiting (A308) Clarence Street from turning right into (B376) Bridge Street. 

Alternative Route: (1) (A308) Clarence Street, (A308) Thames Street, (A308) South Street, Mustard Mill Road, Hale Street, (B376) Wraysbury Road, and (B376) Bridge Street; (2) (B376) Wraysbury Road, Hale Street, Mustard Mill Road, (A308) High Street, Kingston Road, Grensham Road, (B376) Laleham Road, (A308) Thames Street, (A308) Clarence Street, and (A308) Staines Bridge. 

This Temporary Traffic Order is required to facilitate gas mains replacement works for, or on behalf of Cadent Gas. These works are anticipated to be carried out over 19 days between, the hours of 8am and 6pm, within the 12-month period of operation of this Temporary Order that commences on 30 March 2026. 

Advanced warning signs will be displayed, and the temporary prohibitions, which are anticipated to be in operation 24 hours per day, will only operate when the relevant traffic signs are displayed. 

The above restrictions shall not apply to vehicles being used in relation to anything done with the permission or at the direction of a police constable in uniform; or in accordance with any restrictions or requirement indicated by traffic signs placed on the road by or on behalf of the Police. 

Access for pedestrians and dismounted cyclists will be maintained at all times. Access for residents will be via Wraysbury Road. 

All other vehicular traffic, including emergency service vehicles will be required to follow the diversion route.

Chiddingfold Road (C34) Godalming
Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2026

Surrey County Council propose to make the above mentioned Temporary Traffic Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 the effect of which will be to prohibit vehicles from entering or proceeding in that length of Chiddingfold Road (C34) Godalming as extends from its junction with (C33) Plaistow Road to its junction with (X11399) Keeper Lane. 

Alternative Route: Chiddingfold Road, High Street Green, (A283) Petworth Road, (A283) Cripplecrutch Hill, Shillinglee Road, Dunsfold Road, and Plaistow Road, or this route in reverse. This Order is required to facilitate utility works for, or on behalf of UKPN. 

These works are anticipated to be carried out over 1 day, between the hours of 8am and 11.59pm, within the 12-month period of operation of this Order which will commence on 03 April 2026. 

Advanced warning signs will be displayed, and the temporary closure will only operate when the relevant traffic signs are displayed. Access for pedestrians and dismounted cyclists will be maintained at all times. Access for emergency service vehicles will be maintained via road plates. All other vehicular traffic, including residents, will be required to follow the diversion route. 

The Council are satisfied that, in accordance with Section 3(2)(a) and 3(2)(b) of the Act, vehicular access to and from premises within the length of road above, or accessible only therefrom, may be restricted in order to avoid danger to persons or other traffic using the road and/or for preventing the likelihood of any such danger arising.
