Temporary 30mph Speed Limit Order 2026
Date coming into force: 23 March 2026

Notice is hereby given that North Somerset Council in pursuance of the provisions of section14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, intend to make an order the effect of which will be to restrict, temporarily any vehicles from exceeding 30mph on the lengths of road specified in the Schedule to this Notice. Exemptions are included for emergency services.
The above restriction is necessary in the interest of public safety and the facilitation of road works as part of the Bus Service Improvement Plan (BSIP) works being undertaken by North Somerset Council. This order will become operative on the 23 March 2026 for a maximum period of eighteen months. However, the restrictions may not be implemented for the whole of the period but only as necessary as the works which is anticipated to be of four weeks in duration.
Schedule - A369 Abbots Leigh Road, Leigh Woods from its junction with North Road to its junction with Bridge Road. A369 Rownham Hill, Leigh Woods from its Junction with Bridge Road to point 370m along the road in an easterly direction.

Notice is hereby given that North Somerset Council in pursuance of the provisions of section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, intend to make an order the effect of which:
Thackeray Road, Clevedon, North Somerset
Temporary Prohibition of Use by Vehicles Order 2026
Date coming into Force: 12 May 2026

Will be to close, temporarily, to vehicles the lengths of roads specified in the Schedule to this Notice. Exemptions are included for emergency services, works access, works vehicles and as works permit for premises which may only be accessed via the closed section of road.
This order is required because of the likelihood of danger to the public consequent upon work by Openreach Limited for cabling work. This order will become operative on the 12 May 2026 for a maximum period of eighteen months. However, the closures may not be implemented for the whole of the period but only as necessitated by the works which is anticipated to be of 6 hours in duration between 9.30am and 3.30pm. Appropriate traffic signs will be displayed when the measures are in force.

This order is required because of the likelihood of danger to the public consequent upon work by Openreach Limited for desilting work. This order will become operative on the 24 June 2026 for a maximum period of eighteen months. However, the closures may not be implemented for the whole of the period but only as necessitated by the works which is anticipated to be of 6 hours in duration between 9.30am and 3.30pm. Appropriate traffic signs will be displayed when the measures are in force.

This order is required because of the likelihood of danger to the public consequent upon work by the Inland Drainage Board for replacement of access across Parish Brook and Ten Foot Rhyne. This order will become operative on the 27 April 2026 for a maximum period of eighteen months. However, the closures may not be implemented for the whole of the period but only as necessitated by the works which is anticipated to be of 15 days in duration between 8am and 5pm (Mondays to Fridays). Appropriate traffic signs will be displayed when the measures are in force. Resident access will be maintained where possible and as works permit.

Temporary Prohibition of Use by Vehicles and Cyclists
Date coming into force: 2 March 2026

Will be to close, temporarily, to vehicles and cyclists the lengths of roads specified in the Schedule to this Notice.
This order was required because of surface dressing patching and will become operative on 2 March 2026, anticipated to be of 2 nights. Work will take place between 7pm and 5am. The maximum period for the closure is eighteen months, however, the closure may not be implemented for the whole of the period but only as necessitated by the works.
Schedule - B3124 Clevedon Road from the junction of Holy Lane to the junction of Clapton Lane.
