Bracknell Forest, Multiple Temporary Road Closures Due To Various Works
What is happening?
BRACKNELL FOREST BOROUGH COUNCIL
(VARIOUS ROADS, BRACKNELL, BINFIELD, WARFIELD, WINKFIELD, CROWTHORNE & SANDHURST)
(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) ORDER 2026
Notice is hereby given that Bracknell Forest Borough Council intends not less than seven days from the date of this Notice to make an Order, in accordance with Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 the effect of which will be to prohibit any vehicle from proceeding in the direction stated along the following lengths of road: -
Gripfibre resurfacing with pre-patching
a) Howe Lane, Binfield North and Warfield West in both directions between Twyford Road and the borough Boundary
The diversion route for this closure will be via Howe Lane, Drift Road, A330 Ascot Road, A3095 Maidenhead Road, B3034 Forest Road, B3018 Church Lane, B3018 Church Hill or this route reversed
b) A3095 Mill Lane, Easthampstead and Wildridings, in both directions between Twin Bridges Roundabout and Wildridings Roundabout.
The diversion route for this closure will be via A322 Downshire Way, A322 Bagshot Road, B3430 Nine Mile Ride, A3095 Crowthorne Road, A3095 Mill Lane.
And, via Ellesfield Avenue, Doncastle Road and A329 Berkshire Way, to join the above diversion, or this route in reverse.
c) Winkfield Lane, Winkfield and Warfield East, in both directions between Moat Farm Close and Drift Road
The diversion route for this closure will be via Drift Road, North Street, A330 Pigeonhouse Lane, A330 Church Road, A330 Maidens Green, Winkfield Lane, or this route reversed.
Inlay re-surfacing
d) Popeswood Road, Binfield, in both directions between St Marks Road and B3408 London Road
The diversion route for this closure will be via B3408 London Road, St Mark’s Road or this route reversed
e) Terrace Road south, Binfield North and Warfield West, in both directions between B3034 Forest Road and Foxley Lane
The diversion route for this closure will be via B3034 Forest Road, Foxley Lane, Terrace Road South, or this route reversed
f) Randall Mead, Binfield North and Warfield West, for the entire length of the shared surface area

g) B3430 Nine Mile Ride, Great Hollands and Crowthorne, in both directions between Old Wokingham Road and the Bucklers Ride
The diversion route for this closure will be via Old Wokingham Road, B3348 Bracknell Road, A3095 Foresters Way, B3430 Nine Mile Ride or this route reversed
h) Aldworth Close, Easthampstead and Wildridings Ward, in both directions fronting nos. 31 - 43
No diversion route is available
i) Cricketers Lane, Winkfield and Warfield East in both directions for its entire length
The diversion route for this closure will be via B3034 Forest Road, B3022 Bracknell Road or this route reversed
j) Alcot Close, Crowthorne, in both directions for the whole length of the shared surface area fronting nos 30 - 43

k) Terrace Road North, Binfield North and Warfield West, in both directions between Church Lane and Wicks Green
The diversion route for this closure will be via Terrace Road North, B3034 Forest Road, B3018 Church Lane, or this route reversed
l) Western Road Cain Road Roundabout, Priestwood and Garth, for the entire roundabout and approaches.
The diversion route for this closure will be via Western Road, Downshire Way, B3408 Wokingham Road, or this route reversed, or, via Cain Road, John Nike Way, B3408 London Road, Wokingham Road, or this route reversed
m) Western Road, Priestwood and Garth, in both directions between Downshire Way and Downmill Road,
The diversion route for this closure will be via Downshire Way, B3408 Wokingham Road, Western Road or this route reversed, and, via Easthampstead Road, Downshire Way to join the above diversion.
n) Easthampstead Road, Priestwood and Garth in both directions between A329 Twin Bridges Roundabout and Western Road.
The diversion route for this closure will be via Western Road, Downshire Way or this route reversed
o) A329 Berkshire Way, Binfield South and Jennetts Park in a west bound direction between Doncastle Road and the borough boundary.
The short diversion available when works are between Doncastle Roundabout and Vigar Way will be via Doncastle Road, Peacock Lane, Vigar Way (short Diversion). The full diversion route required when Jennetts Park roundabout is closed is via A329 Berkshire Way, A322 Downshire Way, A3095 Bagshot Road, A3095 Church Road, A329 Millennium Way, B3408 Wokingham Road, B3408 London Road or this route reversed
p) A321 Yorktown Road, Sandhurst, in both directions between Scotland Hill and Crowthorne Road roundabout including all approaches.
The diversion route will be via A321 High Street, Wokingham Road B3348 Duke’s Ride, Bracknell Road, A3095 Foresters Way, Rackstraw Road, A321 Yorktown Road or this route reversed, and, Via Crowthorne Road, Sandhurst Road, High Street, or this route reversed, to join the above diversion route.
Local traffic from Scotland Hill to use Harts Leap Road to join Crowthorne Road and the above diversion.
q) Great Hollands Road, Great Hollands in both directions between Ringmead/Eddington Road Roundabout and Hanworth Roundabout
The diversion route for this closure will be via A3095 Mill Lane, Ringmead or this route reversed
r) B3034 Forest Road, Binfield North and Warfield West, in both directions between its roundabout junction with Benetfield Road and the borough Boundary at Foxley Lane
The diversion route for this closure will be via B3034 Forest Road, Terrace Road South, Foxley Lane or this route reversed
s) Hawkins Close Bullbrook, in both directions for the whole length of the shared surface fronting nos 6 -15.
No diversion route is available
t) A321 Wokingham Road, Crowthorne, in both directions between Ambarrow Lane and the Borough Boundary
The diversion route will be via B3348 Duke’s Ride, Bracknell Road, A3095 Foresters Way, Rackstraw Road, A321 Yorktown Road, High Street, Wokingham Road or this route reversed.
For high vehicles above 3.6m use B3348 Duke’s Ride, Bracknell Road, A3095 Foresters Way, Rackstraw Road, A321 Marshall Road, A30 London Road, B3272 Reading Road, Sandhurst Road, Yateley Road, A321 High Street, A321 Wokingham Road or this route in reverse.
u) Old Wokingham Road, Crowthorne Ward in both directions between Hatch Ride and B3430 Nine Mile Ride,
The diversion route for this closure will be via Old Wokingham Road, B3348 Bracknell Road, A3095 Foresters Way, B3430 Nine Mile Ride or this route reversed
v) Brookers Corner, Crowthorne, in both directions from Bracknell Road to Upper Broadmoor Road.
The diversion route for this closure will be via B3348 Bracknell Road, Upper Broadmoor Road or this route reversed
Surface Dressing pre-patching
w) A330 Ascot Road, Kingscroft Lane and Cocks Lane, Winkfield and Warfield East, in both directions between the A3095 Maidenhead Road junction and the junction with B3022 Bracknell Road,
The diversion route for this route will be via the A3095 Maidenhead Road, A3095 Forest Road, B3034 Warfield Street, B3022 Bracknell Road or this route reversed.
x) Malt Hill, Winkfield and Warfield East in both directions between Kingscroft Lane and Bracknell Road.
The diversion route for this closure will be via the A330 Kingscroft Lane, A330 Cocks Lane, B3022 Bracknell Road or this route reversed.
Access will be maintained where possible for residents and businesses affected by this Order.
The purpose of this Order is to enable works to be executed on the road namely carriageway resurfacing works.
The proposed Order will come into operation on the 23rd March 2026 and its maximum duration will be 18 months or until the completion of the works whichever shall be the earlier. It is currently anticipated that the resurfacing works on sites a) to n) above will be carried out between 24th March 2026 and 26th May 2026, sites o) to v) will be carried out between 3rd August 2026 and 17th September 2026 and patching works on sites w) and x) will be between 15th and 31st March 2027.
A full programme of the works is available on the Council website at www.bracknell-forest.gov.uk/renewing-surfaces and signs detailing individual sites closure dates will be placed on site prior to commencement of the works.
This Order shall only apply when the appropriate signs and markings are displayed in the road.
