(HIGHER END LANE AND BROADFLEET CLOSE, PILLING, WYRE BOROUGH)
(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF THROUGH TRAFFIC) ORDER 2026
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Lancashire County Council intend to make an Order under Section 14(1) (a) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, the effect of which will be to temporarily prohibit traffic on the roads set out in this notice.
1. No person shall cause any motor vehicle to proceed over that length of
i. Higher End Lane, Pilling from outside Linden Lea to outside Lune Bank.
ii. Broadfleet Close, Pilling from its junction with Higher End Lane to outside number 4.
2. Nothing in this order shall apply to persons engaged in the carrying out of the works.
3. The prohibition will be operative from 0930 hours until 1530 hours on Tuesday 31st March 2026 or until completion of the works within this period. Access for emergency services will be maintained.
4. Vehicular access for residents will be maintained whenever and wherever possible. Pedestrian access to properties will always be maintained.
5. An alternative route for vehicular traffic affected by the closure is via:-
School Lane – Smallwood Hey Road – Carr Lane – A588 Head Dyke Lane – A588 Lancaster Road – Taylors Lane – Higher End Lane and vice versa.
The temporary prohibition is necessary to allow safety for operatives to access linkbox in carriageway works to be carried out by BT.
