30MPH Speed Limit in Various Roads in Virginia Water, Englefield Green and Egham
On 03 March 2026 Surrey County Council made “The Surrey County Council Various Roads in Virginia Water, Englefield Green and Egham (30MPH Speed Limit)(Amendment and Part-Revocation) Order 2026“, under Section 84 of and Part IV of Schedule 9 to the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (“the Act”) (as amended) and of all other enabling powers, which will come into force on 07 March 2026, the effect of which will be to reduce the maximum speed limit on the lengths of road specified and described in the First Column to the First Schedule to this Notice and the lengths of road specified in the Third Schedule to this Notice:-
1. Imposing a maximum speed limit of 30 miles per hour on the lengths of road specified and described in the Second Column to the First Schedule to this Notice.
2. Amending the “Runnymede Borough Council Borough of Runnymede (De-Restriction and 40MPH Speed Limit) Order 1990” so shall have effect as though:-
(i) Part 6 to the Second Schedule and Part 7 to the Third Schedule relating to D3192 Callow Hill, Virginia Water were deleted in their entirety;
(ii) Part 5 to the Second Schedule and Part 6 to the Third Schedule relating to D3191 Bakeham Lane, Englefield Green shall be amended insofar as relate to the length of Bakeham Lane, Englefield Green as specified in the Second Schedule to this Notice.
NOTE – The lengths of road referred to in the Third Column to the First Schedule to this Notice and the lengths of road specified in the Second Schedule to this Notice will then become subject to a 30mph maximum speed limit by virtue of the street lighting system currently provided on these lengths of road.
The speed limits imposed by this Order shall not apply to vehicles used by special forces in accordance with the Road Traffic Exemptions (Special Forces) (Variation and Amendment) Regulations 2011.

Proposed 30MPH Speed Limit in A320 Woking Road, Guildford Surrey County Council propose to make “The Surrey County Council A320 Woking Road, Guildford (Speed Limit Amendment) Order 202-” under Section 84 of and Part IV of Schedule 9 to the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (as amended) (“the 1984 Act”) and of all other enabling powers, the purpose and effect of which is to reduce the speed limit imposed on the length of A320 Woking Road, Guildford specified and described in the Schedule to this Notice from 40mph to 30mph.
This proposal will require for the existing 40mph speed limit imposed on the length of A320 Woking Road, Guildford referred to above and specified and described in the Schedule to this Notice to be revoked whereby the said length of road will then become subject to a 30mph maximum speed limit by virtue of the provision of a system of street lighting, pursuant to Sections 81 and 82(1)(a) of the 1984 Act.
This proposal will require for Part a) to the Schedule to “The Surrey County Council A320 Woking Road, Guildford (40 mph Speed Limit) Order 2000” to be amended so the 40mph speed limit imposed on the lengths of A320 Woking Road, Guildford specified and described in the Schedule to this Notice shall be revoked.

Proposed Traffic Calming Measures and Zebra Crossing in A317
Church Street and D3881 Minorca Road, Weybridge
Notice is hereby given that Surrey County Council, in exercise of their powers under Section 90(A) to (I) inclusive of the Highways Act 1980, Section 23 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, and after consultation with the Chief Office of Police in accordance with Section 23(2)A) of the said Act of 1984, propose to introduce a series of physical measures to improve safety and reduce vehicle speeds in Weybridge and establish 2 zebra crossings as follows:-
Raised Road Tables are proposed for the following locations:-
1. A317 Church Street, Weybridge – a raised table which extends the full width of the carriageway and is 7.5m in length, centred at a point 5.7m east of the property boundary of “Weybridge Library” and “The Old Rectory”.
2. A317 Church Street, Weybridge – a raised table which extends the full width of the carriageway (across NHS site access only) and is 6.0m in length, centred at a point 1.8m south of the health centre entrance boundary wall, at its junction with the access for Weybridge NHS Health Campus.
3. D3881 Minorca Road, Weybridge, widening of the existing raised table at its junction with A317 Church Street – a raised table which extends the full width of the carriageway and is 9m in length, centred at a point 1.7m south of the Weybridge Hall building frontage.
A Zebra Crossing is proposed for the following location:-
1. A317 Church Street, Weybridge – a zebra crossing with zigzag markings; the centreline of the crossing is to be located at a point 5.7m east of property boundary of “Weybridge Library” and “The Old Rectory”, on a 75mm high raised table, in replacement of the existing pedestrian crossing outside “Nos. 11 and 12 Church Street”. The length of the proposed zebra crossing will be 6.6m and the width of the crossing will be 5.6m.

A317 Weybridge Road, A317 Balfour Road and D3877 Portmore Park Road, Weybridge – a Raised Junction Table which extends the full width of the carriageway, that is comprised within the roundabout at the junction of A317 Weybridge Road, A317 Balfour Road, D3877 Portmore Park Road and D3877 Old Wharf Way, (entire roundabout), from the southeast kerb line of A317 Weybridge Road at its junction with D3877 Old Wharf Way, for a distance of 42.8m south-eastwards along A317 Weybridge Road and A317 Balfour Road, and 29.2m northeastwards into D3877 Portmore Park Road.
2. A317 Balfour Road, Weybridge – a zebra crossing with zigzag markings; the centreline of the crossing is to be located at a point 1m east of the northwestern property boundary of “Victoria Mews”, on a 75mm high raised table. The length of the proposed zebra crossing will be 7.2m and the width of the crossing will be 3.2m.
3. D3877 Portmore Park Road, Weybridge – a zebra crossing with zigzag markings; the centreline of the crossing is to be located at a point 7m northeast of the southeastern property boundary of “Stretton Court”, on a 75mm high raised table. The length of the proposed zebra crossing will be 7.7m and the width of the crossing will be 3.2m.

Amendments to Waiting Restrictions in A317 Church Street, Weybridge
On 01 August 2025 Surrey County Council (“the Council”) proposed to make “The Surrey County Council (Various Roads in Elmbridge) (Waiting Loading and Unloading Restriction and On-Street Parking Places Orders) (Amendment No. 4) Order 202-, under Sections 1, 2, 4, 32, 35, 36, 45, 46, 49, 51, and 53 of and Part IV of Schedule 9 the Road Traffic and Regulation Act 1984 (“the Act”) the effect of which will be to:-

The Council now proposes to make further amendments to the Orders quoted in the said Notice, the effect of which will be to prohibit the waiting by vehicles at any time in that length of A317 Church Street, Weybridge that extends from the eastern side of its junction with D3881 Minorca Road, to the eastern side of its junction with the access for Weybridge NHS Health Campus” (north side); and provide that the usual exceptions for loading and unloading vehicles, boarding and alighting from vehicles, for works on or adjoining the lengths of roads referred to in the said schedule, the maintenance of those roads and the services in them and for disabled persons vehicles in accordance with the Blue Badge Scheme, would apply.

Proposed One Way with Contra Flow Cycle Lane, Banned Turn and No Entry in D3877 Old Wharf Way and A317 Weybridge Road, Weybridge
Surrey County Council propose to make “The Surrey County Council D3877 Old Wharf Way and A317 Weybridge Road, Weybridge (One Way)(Banned Turn) (Prohibition of Entry) and (Contra Flow Cycle Lane) Order 202-”, under Section 1(1) and 2(1) to (3) and 4(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect of which will be to:-
1. Introduce a southbound (contra-flow) cycle lane on the eastern side of that length of D3877 Old Wharf Way, Weybridge that extends from its junction with A317 Weybridge Road, to its junction with Quadrant Way.
2. Prohibit traffic from proceeding in that length of D3877 Old Wharf Way, Weybridge that extends from its junction with Quadrant Way, to its junction with A317 Weybridge Road other than in a northerly direction, excluding the cycle lane.
3. Prohibit traffic proceeding northward on D3877 Old Wharf Way, Weybridge from turning right into A317 Weybridge Road, except pedal cycles.
4. Prohibit all vehicles, except pedal cycles, proceeding in A317 Weybridge Road, Weybridge from entering D3877 Old Wharf Way, Weybridge, at the junction of the said roads.
The above prohibitions and restrictions shall not apply to vehicles being used for ambulance, fire brigade or police purposes in an emergency; or in relation to anything done with the permission or at the direction of a police constable in uniform; or in accordance with any restriction or requirement indicated by traffic signs placed on the road in accordance with any restriction or requirement indicated by traffic signs placed pursuant to Section 66 or 67 of the Act.

1. Impose a 20 mph speed limit on the entire length of the roads in Weybridge specified in the First Schedule to this Notice, that will be signed as a 20mph Limit.
2. Revoke “The Surrey County Council Various Roads in Weybridge (20mph Speed Limit) Order 2020” that imposes the existing 20mph speed limit in the lengths of road specified in the Second Schedule to this Notice and reimpose the 20mph speed limit in these lengths by inclusion within this proposed Speed Limit Order. (Note – The revocations and reimpositions proposed in Part 2. to this Notice will not affect any changes to the existing speed limits imposed on the lengths of road specified in the Second Schedule to this Notice therefore responses are only invited for the new proposals described in Part 1. to this Notice).
The speed limit proposed by this Order shall not apply to vehicles used by special forces in accordance with the Road Traffic Exemptions (Special Forces) (Variation and Amendment) Regulations 2011.

Impose a 20 mph speed limit on the entire length of the roads in Weybridge specified in the First Schedule to this Notice, that will be signed as a 20mph Zone. 2.
