(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF WAITING, LOADING AND UNLOADING) ORDER 2026
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Lancashire County Council intend to make an Order under Section 14(1) (a) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, the effect of which will be to temporarily prohibit traffic on the roads set out in this notice.
1. To temporarily amend the weekday prohibition of waiting on B5254 Towngate, Leyland (Southbound carriageway) to prohibit any motor vehicle from waiting from 0700 hours to 1800 hours, Monday to Friday, from a point 12 metres south of its junction with B5254 Westgate for a distance of 50 metres.
2. To temporarily amend the weekday prohibition of loading and unloading on B5254 Towngate, Leyland (Southbound carriageway) to prohibit any motor vehicle from loading and unloading from 0700 hours to 1800 hours, Monday to Friday, from a point 12 metres south of its junction with B5254 Westgate for a distance of 50 metres.
3. To temporarily amend the weekday prohibition of waiting on Westgate, Leyland (Eastbound carriageway only) to prohibit any motor vehicle from waiting from 0700 hours to 1800 hours, Monday to Friday, from its junction with B5254 Towngate to its junction with Carlton Road.
4. To temporarily amend the weekday prohibition of loading and unloading on Westgate, Leyland (Eastbound carriageway) to prohibit any motor vehicle from loading and unloading from 0700 hours to 1800 hours, Monday to Friday, from its junction with B5254 Towngate to its junction with Carlton Road.
5. To temporarily amend the weekday prohibition of waiting on Carlton Road, Leyland (Northbound carriageway only) to prohibit any motor vehicle from waiting from 0700 hours to 1800 hours, Monday to Friday, from its junction with Westgate for a distance of 25 metres in a northerly direction.
6. To temporarily amend the weekday prohibition of loading and unloading on Carlton Road, Leyland (Northbound carriageway) to prohibit any motor vehicle from loading and unloading from 0700 hours to 1800 hours, Monday to Friday, from its junction with Westgate for a distance of 25 metres in a northerly direction.
7. Nothing in this order shall apply to persons engaged in the carrying out of the works.
8. This order will be in force from 0700 hours on Monday 16th March 2026 until 1600 hours on Monday 1st November 2027 or until completion of the works within this period.
The temporary prohibitions are necessary to facilitate the safe redevelopment of Wellfield Academy.
