Notice of proposed change in fees for vehicle and operator licences

Lichfield District Council proposes to change the fees and charges for Hackney Carriage and Private Hire Vehicles and Private Hire Operator Licences as set out below. Fees for vehicle testing are not included within these figures.

Vehicle licence fees 1 year licence
New private hire vehicle licence £205.00
Renewal private hire vehicle licence £185.00
Plate/panel exemption £250.00
New hackney carriage vehicle licence £205.00
Renewal hackney carriage vehicle licence £185.00
Exceptional condition application £205.00 + £35.00
Transfer of licence to new owner £50.00
Change of details (name, address etc) £20.00
Replacement plate £25.00

Operator licence fees 5 Year licence
Private Hire Operator 1-5 vehicles (fee per vehicle) £370.00
Private Hire Operator 6 vehicles and over (fee per vehicle) £370.00

Any objections, comments or queries about the proposed charges should be sent via email to

taxi.licensing@lichfielddc.gov.uk

or by post to the Licensing Team, District Council House, Frog Lane, Lichfield. WS13 6YY by 6 April 2026. A copy of this notice has been deposited at the council offices and is available on our website.

The Council will consider any objections are made within 28 days, of this Notice and not withdrawn.
New fees will come into operation on 6 April 2026.
