ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984 - SECTION 14 THE COUNTY OF DEVON (TEMPORARY RESTRICTION)

(OLD VICARAGE ROAD, EXETER) (NO. 2) ORDER 2026 
TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF THROUGH TRAFFIC & PARKING 

NOTICE is hereby given that Devon County Council intends to make the above titled order. From 1/4/26 for a maximum of 18 months. Anticipated Finish 16/4/26. No person shall cause or permit any vehicle to proceed or wait on the sections of Affected Roads. 

Roads affected: OLD VICARAGE ROAD, EXETER, FROM OUTSIDE 19 TO OUTSIDE 75. The alternative, signed, route for vehicles will be via - OLD VICARAGE ROAD, COWICK STREET, ALPHINGTON STREET, ROAD OVER EXE BRIDGE NORTH, EDMUND STREET, ROAD OVER EXE BRIDGE SOUTH, ALPHINGTON STREET, ALPHINGTON ROAD, SYDNEY ROAD, FERNDALE ROAD, OLD VICARAGE ROAD ALTERNATIVE ROUTE: OLD VICARAGE ROAD, FERNDALE ROAD, SYDNEY ROAD, ALPHINGTON ROAD, ALPHINGTON STREET, COWICK STREET, OLD VICARAGE ROAD. 

This temporary restriction is considered necessary to enable: LEAD REPLACEMENT SCHEME - LEAD REPLACEMENTS TO RESOLVE WATER QUALITY ISSUES.

The alternative, signed, route for vehicles will be via - BELMONT RD - CLIFTON RD - HEAVITREE RD - GLADSTONE RD - POLSLOE RD -VICE VERSA.

This temporary restriction is considered necessary to enable: LEAD REPLACEMENT SCHEME.

Roads affected: A377 COWLEY BRIDGE, EXETER. The alternative, signed, route for vehicles will be via - ROAD CLOSURE A37 AT COWLEY BRIDGE. DIVERSION: A396, A3072, A377, A3072, A3124, A30, A377 BOTH DIRECTIONS. DIVERSION 2: A377, A3072, A3124, A30, A377 BOTH DIRECTIONS. DIVERSION 3: A377, ST DAVIDS HILL, HELE ROAD, NEW N ROAD, LONGBROOK STREET, PENNSYLVANIA ROAD, A396. 

This temporary restriction is considered necessary to enable: RESURFACING OF A377.
