The East Sussex (C652 Lower Station Road, Newick)

(Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2026

To allow SGN to carry out works, East Sussex County Council intend not less than seven days from the date of this notice to make an Order under Sections 14(1) and 15(1)(b) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, which will temporarily close the following length of road;

Temporary Road Closure

Lower Station Road – from the junction with A272 Station Road to the junction with C651 Oxbottom Lane.

A safe route will be provided for pedestrians and vehicular access for residents and to properties maintained whenever possible with an alternative route for through traffic via A272 Station Road – C651 Oxbottom Lane and vice versa.

The Order commences 23 March 2026 and lasts for a period of 18 months, or until works are completed, whichever is earlier. However, it is anticipated works will be undertaken between 23 and 27 March 2026 depending upon the weather conditions. (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2026

Valley Road – from the junction with C7 Winterbourne Hollow to the junction with U5103 Valley Road.

A safe route will be provided for pedestrians and vehicular access for residents and to properties maintained whenever possible with an alternative route for through traffic via C7 Winterbourne Hollow – U5103 Winterbourne Lane, Valley Road and vice versa.

The Order commences 23 March 2026 and lasts for a period of 18 months, or until works are completed, whichever is earlier. However, it is anticipated works will be undertaken between 23 March and 25 May 2026 depending upon the weather conditions. (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2026

To allow BT Openreach to carry out works, East Sussex County Council intend not less than seven days from the date of this notice to make an Order under Sections 14(1) and 15(1)(b) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, which will temporarily close the following length of road;

Nettlesworth Lane – from the junction with C208 Horebeech Lane to the junction with U7918 Furnace Lane.

A safe route will be provided for pedestrians and vehicular access for residents and to properties maintained whenever possible with an alternative route for through traffic via C596 Foords Lane, Clappers Lane – C409 Hammer Lane – C15 Cowbeech Road – C344 Cinderford Lane – C208 Grove Hill, Marle Green, Marle Green North Corner, Marle Green – C406 Laundry Lane, Nettlesworth Lane and vice versa.

The Order commences 23 March 2026 and lasts for a period of 18 months, or until works are completed, whichever is earlier. (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2026

(Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2026

To allow South East Water to carry out works, East Sussex County Council intend not less than seven days from the date of this notice to make an Order under Sections 14(1) and 15(1)(b) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, which will temporarily close the following length of road;

Temporary Road Closure

Chiltington Lane – from the junction with C6 Highbridge Lane to the junction with C6 Beechwood Lane.

A safe route will be provided for pedestrians and vehicular access for residents and to properties maintained whenever possible with an alternative route for through traffic via C6 Beechwood Lane – A275 Cooksbridge Road, Resting Oak Hill, South Road – C323 Mill Lane, Honeypot Lane – C6 Novington Lane, Highbridge Lane and vice versa.

The Order commences 24 March 2026 and lasts for a period of 18 months, or until works are completed, whichever is earlier. However, it is anticipated works will be undertaken between 24 and 30 March 2026 depending upon the weather conditions. (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2026

To allow Trooli to carry out works, East Sussex County Council have made an Order under Sections 14(1) and 15(1)(b) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, which will temporarily close the following length of road;

Temporary Road Closure

Broomans Lane – for its full extent.

A safe route will be provided for pedestrians and vehicular access for residents and to properties maintained whenever possible.

The Order commences 11 March 2026 and lasts for a period of 18 months, or until works are completed, whichever is earlier. However, it is anticipated works will be undertaken between 11 and 13 March 2026 depending upon the weather conditions. The Street – from the junction with C7 Newhaven Road to the junction with U5051 South Farm Close.

The Order commenced 17 April 2025 and lasts for a period of 18 months, or until works are completed, whichever is earlier. However, it is anticipated works will be undertaken between 12 and 16 March 2026 depending upon the weather conditions. (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2026

To allow UKPN to carry out works, East Sussex County Council have made an Order under Sections 14(1) and 15(1)(b) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, which will temporarily close the following length of road;

Temporary Road Closure

Ailies Lane – from the junction with U7676 Whitesmith Lane to the junction with U7672 Graywood Road.

A safe route will be provided for pedestrians and vehicular access for residents and to properties maintained whenever possible with an alternative route for through traffic via U7672 Graywood Road – C13 Waldron Road, High Street, South Street – A22 South Street, Whitesmith – U7676 Whitesmith Lane and vice versa.

The Order commences 12 March 2026 and lasts for a period of 18 months, or until works are completed, whichever is earlier. However, it is anticipated works will be undertaken on 12 March 2026 depending upon the weather conditions.

To allow East Sussex Highways to carry out works, East Sussex County Council have made an Order under Sections 14(1) and 15(1)(b) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, which will temporarily close the following length of road;

Temporary Road Closure

Blatchington Hill – from the junction with U5446 Sutton Drove to the junction with U5440 Homefield Road.

A safe route will be provided for pedestrians and vehicular access for residents and to properties maintained whenever possible with an alternative route for through traffic via U5522 Blatchington Hill – U5441 Upper Belgrave Road – U5423 Lexden Road – U5431 Vale Road – U5446 Sutton Drove and vice versa.

The Order commences 6 March 2026 and lasts for a period of 18 months, or until works are completed, whichever is earlier. However, it is anticipated works will be undertaken on 6 March 2026 depending upon the weather conditions.

(Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2026 No.2

To allow South East Water to carry out works, East Sussex County Council have made an Order under Sections 14(1) and 15(1)(b) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, which will temporarily close the following length of road;

Temporary Road Closure

Framfield Road – from the junction with A272 High Street to the junction with U7403 Etchingwood Lane.

A safe route will be provided for pedestrians and vehicular access for residents and to properties maintained whenever possible with an alternative route for through traffic via U7505 Limes Lane – U7864 Nan Tucks Lane – U7403 Etchingwood Lane and vice versa.

The Order commences 10 March 2026 and lasts for a period of 18 months, or until works are completed, whichever is earlier. To allow Southern Water to carry out works, East Sussex County Council have made an Order under Sections 14(1) and 15(1)(b) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, which will temporarily close the following length of road;

Temporary Road Closure

Blatchington Hill – from the junction with U5441 Upper Belgrave Road to the junction with U5440 Homefield Road.

A safe route will be provided for pedestrians and vehicular access for residents and to properties maintained whenever possible with an alternative route for through traffic via U5441 Upper Belgrave Road – U5440 Homefield Road and vice versa. The Order commences 9 March 2026 and lasts for a period of 18 months, or until works are completed, whichever is earlier. To allow South East Water to carry out works, East Sussex County Council have made an Order under Sections 14(1) and 15(1)(b) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, which will temporarily close the following length of road;

Stonehurst Lane – from the junction with U7580 Skippers Hill to the junction with C209 Stocklands Lane.

A safe route will be provided for pedestrians and vehicular access for residents and to properties maintained whenever possible with an alternative route for through traffic via U7580 Brick Kiln Lane, Criers Lane, Skippers Hill and vice versa.

The Order commences 10 March 2026 and lasts for a period of 18 months, or until works are completed, whichever is earlier. However, it is anticipated works will be undertaken between 10 and 12 March 2026 depending upon the weather conditions. (Temporary Footway Closure) Order 2026

To allow SGN to carry out works, East Sussex County Council have made an Order under Sections 14(1) and 15(1)(b) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, which will temporarily close the following length of footway;

Temporary Footway Closure

Berkeley Row – from the junction with U5103 Barons Down Road to the junction with C7 Winterbourne Hollow.

A safe route will be provided for pedestrians and vehicular access for residents and to properties maintained whenever possible with an alternative route for through traffic via C7 Winterbourne Hollow – U5103 Winterbourne Lane, Delaware Road, Barons Down Road and vice versa.

The Order commences 9 March 2026 and lasts for a period of 18 months, or until works are completed, whichever is earlier. However, it is anticipated works will be undertaken between 9 March and 15 May 2026 depending upon the weather conditions. The East Sussex (A267 Little London Road, Heathfield/Horam)

(Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2025 No.3

To allow East Sussex Highways to carry out works, East Sussex County Council have made an Order under Sections 14(1) and 15(1)(b) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, which will temporarily close the following length of road;

Temporary Road Closure

Little London Road – from the junction with U7038 Sandy Lane to the junction with U7671 Spinney Lane.

A safe route will be provided for pedestrians and vehicular access for residents and to properties maintained whenever possible with an alternative route for through traffic via A267 Little London Road – A265 Cross in Hand Road, High Street, Mutton Hall Hill – B2203 Tower Street, Hailsham Road, Maynards Green Road, High Street – A267 Little London Road and vice versa.

The Order commenced 8 December 2025 and lasts for a period of 18 months, or until works are completed, whichever is earlier. However, it is anticipated works will be undertaken from 20:00hrs to 06:00hrs between 9 and 14 March 2026 depending upon the weather conditions.

The East Sussex (U5116 Market Lane, Lewes)

(Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2026

To allow Taylor Webb Ltd to carry out works, East Sussex County Council have made an Order under Sections 14(1) and 15(1)(b) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, which will temporarily close the following length of road;

Temporary Road Closure

Market Lane – from the junction with A2029 Fisher Street to the junction with A2029 Market Street.

A safe route will be provided for pedestrians and vehicular access for residents and to properties maintained whenever possible with an alternative route for through traffic westbound via A2029 Market Street, North Street, Little East Street, Eastgate Street – B2193 Friars Walk, Lansdown Place, Station Street – A2029 Fisher Street and eastbound via A2029 Fisher Street, West Street, North Street, Little East Street, Eastgate Street – A277 High Street – A2029 Market Street.

The East Sussex (U7543 Danegate, Eridge Green & Mark Cross)

(Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2026

To allow East Sussex Highways to carry out works, East Sussex County Council have made an Order under Sections 14(1) and 15(1)(b) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, which continues temporarily to close the following length of road:

Temporary Road Closure

Danegate – from the junction with C12 Sham Farm Road to the junction with A267 Mayfield Road.

A safe route will be provided for pedestrians and vehicular access for residents and to properties maintained whenever possible with an alternative route for through traffic via C12 Sham Farm Road – A26 Eridge Road – C70 Bunny Lane – A267 Frant Road, Mayfield Road and vice versa.

The Order commences 11 March 2026 and is made following the issuing of a Temporary Notice dated 28 January 2026 and a Temporary Successive Notice dated 18 February 2026 under the relevant sections of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended. The Order lasts for a period of 18 months, or until works are completed, whichever is earlier. However, it is anticipated the closure will be in place between 11 and 13 March 2026 depending upon the weather conditions.

A safe route will be provided for pedestrians and vehicular access for residents and to properties maintained whenever possible with an alternative route for through traffic eastbound via A27(T) Lewes bypass, Ashcombe roundabout – A275 Brighton Road – A277 Western Road, High Street – A2029 Market Street, North Street, Little East Street – A26 Phoenix Causeway, Brooks Road roundabout, Malling Street, Cuilfail Tunnel roundabout and westbound via A26 Cuilfail Tunnel roundabout, Malling Street, Brooks Road roundabout, Phoenix Causeway – A2029 Eastgate Street – A277 High Street, Western Road – A275 Brighton Road – A27(T) Ashcombe roundabout, Lewes bypass, Southerham roundabout.

The Order commences 13 March 2026 and lasts for a period of 18 months, or until works are completed, whichever is earlier. However, it is anticipated works will be undertaken as detailed below depending upon the weather conditions.
