NOTICE OF TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC – ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION
ACT 1984 – Alton Street, Crewe
Notice is hereby given that the Cheshire East Borough Council in exercise of its powers under
Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, and of all other enabling powers proposes to make an order the effect of which will be to temporarily prohibit traffic.
Prohibition of traffic – Alton Street, Crewe – From the junction of Stewart Street to the junction of Rockwood Avenue.
The alternative route will be via Stewart Street, Rockwood Avenue and vice versa which is considered the most suitable route.
This order will come into operation on Tuesday 7th April 2026 and will continue in force for 18 months or for such less time as is necessary to complete the work to be executed in the highway, although it is anticipated that the works will be completed by Friday 17th April 2026. NOTICE OF TEMPORARY SUSPENSION OF RIGHT TURN – ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984 – University Way/Duchy Road, Crewe
Notice is hereby given that the Cheshire East Borough Council in exercise of its powers under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, and of all other enabling powers has made an order the effect of which will be to temporarily suspension of right turn.
Suspension of right turn – University Way, Crewe – Right turn into The Rookery Pub

Duchy Road, Crewe – Right turn onto University Way
This order will come into operation on Monday 16th March 2026 and will continue in force for 18 months or for such less time as is necessary to complete the work to be executed in the highway, although it is anticipated that the works will be completed by Friday 27th March 2026. Notice is hereby given that the Cheshire East Borough Council in exercise of its powers under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, and of all other enabling powers has made an order the effect of which will be to temporarily prohibit traffic.
Prohibition of traffic – Kings Drive, Wistaston
From the junction of White Hart Lane and the junction of Church Lane.
The alternative route will be via Kings Drive, Princess Drive, Westfield Drive, Church Lane and vice versa which is considered the most suitable route.
This order will come into operation on Monday 30th March 2026 and will continue in force for 18 months or for such less time as is necessary to complete the work to be executed in the highway, although it is anticipated that the works will be completed by Saturday 11th April 2026.

NOTICE OF CERTIFICATION OF PUBLIC PATH DIVERSION ORDER – TOWN AND COUNTRY PLANNING ACT 1990 S257 – The Cheshire East Borough Council – (Footpath No 35 (Parts) Parish of Nantwich) – Public Path Diversion Order 2024
On 27th November 2025, the Cheshire East Borough Council certified that the above-named Order was operational on the basis that the new path was now available for use. The effect of the above-named Order, as certified and previously confirmed, is to divert the following lengths of Public Footpath No.35 in the Parish of Nantwich:
That length of footpath commencing at OS grid reference (OSGR) GR SJ 6486 5334 and running south, south westerly for 90m to OSGR SJ 6484 5325, to a new length commencing at OSGR SJ 6486 5334 and running south easterly for 93m to OSGR SJ 6493 5328, and then running west, south westerly for 95m to OSGR SJ 6484 5325.
That length of footpath commencing at OSGR SJ 6480 5321 and running southerly for 156m to OSGR SJ 6483 5306, and then running south, south westerly for a 80m to OSGR SJ 6480 5298, to a new line commencing at OSGR SJ 6480 5321 and running southerly for 22m to OSGR SJ 6480 5319, and then running south, south westerly for 19m to OSGR SJ 6479 5317, and then running south, south easterly for 69m to OSGR SJ 6482 5310, and then running southerly for 48m to OSGR SJ 6482 5305, and then running south, south westerly for 80m to OSGR SJ 6479 5298. All directions are general, and all distances are approximate.
