What is happening?
CUMBERLAND COUNCIL (C2012 AND C2014 NEAR ABBEYTOWN AND C2041 RED DIAL TO CALDBECK)
(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF ALL TRAFFIC) ORDER 2026
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that to enable pre surface dressing patching carriageway resurfacing works to be carried out (“the Works”), Cumberland Council intends to make an Order the effect of which is to prohibit all traffic (i.e. vehicles, pedestrians and cyclists) from proceeding along the following sections of road:
1. (i) C2012 near Abbeytown, extending for a distance of approx. 50m either side of the centre line of its junction with the C2014; and
(ii) C2014, near Abbeytown, from its junction with the C2012 to its junction with the C2013.
Alternative Route: via the unrestricted sections of the C2012, B5301 Aikshaw to Tarns, C2013, C2017, and the B5302 Abbeytown.
Duration: From 16 March 2026 for approx. 9 days (Ref: TTRO(C)/1705)
2. C2041 Red Dial to Caldbeck, from its junction with the A595 at Red Dial, extending in a south easterly direction for approx. 7.9km towards Caldbeck.
Alternative Route: via the B5299, B5305, and the A595.
Duration: From 16 March 2026 for approx. 12 days (Ref: TTRO(C)/1707)

The Order will come into operation on 16 March 2026 and may continue in force for a maximum duration of eighteen months. However, please note that it is anticipated that the restrictions will only be required as detailed above, and only as and when the appropriate traffic signs are displayed.
