The Thicket - Temporary Road Closure
What is happening?

Portsmouth City Council (The Thicket) (Temporary Road Closure) (Temporary Prohibition of Loading and Waiting) (No.39) Order 2026
Notice is hereby given that Portsmouth City Council has made the above Order under Section 14(1)(a) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended by the Road Traffic (Temporary Restrictions) Act 1991.
The Order comes into operation from 9th March 2026 and the effect will be as follows:
A) TEMPORARY ROAD CLOSURE AND PROHIBITION OF LOADING AND WAITING
THE THICKET
From outside No.21 The Thicket to outside No.24 The Thicket.
B) REASON FOR THE ORDER
To facilitate crane works to manoevre old and new electricity substation.
C) DURATION OF THE ORDER
From 9th March 2026 to 13th March 2026 or completion of the works, whichever is sooner. Notwithstanding the above, works will take place between 08:00 to 17:00.
D) DIVERSION
Vehicles will be diverted from The Thicket, Albany Road, Elm Grove.
Pedestrian access will be maintained around the works.
Cycles to follow vehicle diversion or dismount and follow pedestrian diversion around the works.
