Esplanade, Proposed Traffic Regulation Order to Introduce No Loading Restrictions
What is happening?
THE ISLE OF WIGHT COUNCIL (ESPLANADE, VENTNOR) (TRAFFIC REGULATION) ORDER NO 1 2026
Notice is hereby given that the Isle of Wight Council in exercise of their powers under section 1(1) (2), 2(1) to (3) and 4(2) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 ('the Act' of 1984), the Road Traffic Act 1991 ("the Act of 1991") and of all other enabling powers and after consultation with The Chief Officer of Police in accordance with Part III of Schedule 9 to the Act of 1984 propose to make an order the effect of which will be to:
1. To enact the provisions contained shown below into this order: a. To introduce 'No Loading 10am to 8pm' in the following lengths of road:
Esplanade, Ventnor, on the south side, from a point 23.5 metres east to a point 40 metres east of its junction with Esplanade Road The amendments are being proposed to facilitate the passage on the road or any other road of any class of traffic (including pedestrians) and for avoiding danger to persons or other traffic using the road or any other road or for preventing the likelihood of any such danger arising and to prevent parking in the area to create a passing place. A copy of the draft Order, this Notice and the relevant plan may be inspected between normal office hours at the Customer Service Centre, County Hall, Newport, Isle of Wight during the objection period.
