(THOMAS LEWIS WAY & ST DENYS ROAD) (ROAD CLOSURE) (411/56)

TEMPORARY TRAFFIC REGULATION ORDER 2026

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that in accordance with Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 Southampton City Council intends to make the above Order.

1. The effect of the Order will be to:

a) Close the following:

20:00 – 06:00 St Denys Road, Portswood Road and Thomas Lewis Way
Thomas Lewis Way Its junction with St Denys Road Its junction with Bevois Hill 07/06/26 – 31/07/26
20:00 – 06:00 St Denys Road, Portswood Road and Bevois Hill
St Denys Road Its junction with Thomas Lewis Way Its junction with Belmont Road 25/05/26 – 07/06/26
24/7 Thomas Lewis Way and Portswood Road
Thomas Lewis Way (Spur) For its entire length For its entire length 15/03/26 – 31/07/26
24/7 Thomas Lewis Way, Mayfield Road and Portswood Road

2. The Order is required because works are being or are proposed to be executed on or near the road. These works are for electrical cable overlay/replacement.

.3. The alternative routes are as stated above.

4. The Order will come into force on 15th March 2026 and has a maximum duration of 18 months or until the completion of the works, whichever is sooner. It is expected that the works will be complete by 31st July 2026.
