THE METROPOLITAN BOROUGH OF BURY
(VARIOUS – BURY, WHITEFIELD, RADCLIFFE, RAMSBOTTOM, PRESTWICH)
TEMPORARY CLOSURE ORDER 2026

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Council of the Metropolitan Borough of Bury have made an Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 and of all other enabling powers, the effect of which will be to prohibit any vehicles from proceeding along:-

Bury

  1. Grosvenor Street, Bury – full length
  2. Cedar Street, Bury – between Parsonage Street & Fir Street
  3. Ferngrove, Bury – from a point 155m in a northerly direction from its junction with Kingfisher Drive to a point 80m in a northerly direction from its junction with Bullfinch Drive
  4. Ferngrove, Bury – between houses No.202 & No.116
  5. Ferngrove, Bury – from Rochdale Old Road to a point 15m in a northerly direction from its junction with Inglewood Close

Radcliffe

  1. Harley Avenue, Radcliffe – full length

Whitefield

  1. Beech Avenue, Whitefield – full length

Ramsbottom

  1. George Road, Ramsbottom – full length

Prestwich

  1. Bannerman Avenue, Prestwich – from Ostrich Lane to a point 15m in a westerly direction from its junction with Heywood Road
  2. Prestwich Park Road South, Prestwich – full length
  3. Hereford Drive, Prestwich – between Tewkesbury Drive & Parkway
  4. Green Walks, Prestwich – full length

The reason for the proposed order is to facilitate carriageway resurfacing works.

The alternative routes will be: -

Bury

  1. Via Parkhills Road, Market Street, Wellington Road & vice versa
  2. Via Cedar Street, Deal Street, Laurel Street & Pine Street
  3. Via phased diversions which will be in place as and when required by the works
  4. Via phased diversions which will be in place as and when required by the works
  5. Via phased diversions which will be in place as and when required by the works

Radcliffe

  1. Via Church Street, Summer Avenue, Moorside Avenue & vice versa

Whitefield

  1. N/A – no through road

Ramsbottom

  1. Via Hilton Street, Dundee Lane, Bolton Road West, Alfred Street, Hillside Road & vice versa

Prestwich

  1. Via Heywood Road, Rectory Lane, Bent Lane, Ostrich Lane, Scholes Lane & vice versa
  2. Via St Anns Road, Bury New Road & vice versa
  3. Via Parksway, Bishops Road, Tewkesbury Drive & vice versa
  4. N/A – no through road

The Order comes into operation on 02/03/2026 and shall remain in force for a period of up to 18 months, although the anticipated duration of the works is approximately 5 weeks at each location.

(BOLTON ROAD WEST & ADA STREET, RAMSBOTTOM)
TEMPORARY CLOSURE ORDER 2026

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Council of the Metropolitan Borough of Bury have made an Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 and of all other enabling powers, the effect of which will be to prohibit vehicles from proceeding along:-

Bolton Road West, Ramsbottom – at its junction with & including Ada Street

The reason for the proposed order is to facilitate manhole cover & frame replacement works.

The alternative route will be via Lumb Carr Road, Helmsmore Road, Holcombe Road, Grane Road, Manchester Road, Blackburn Road, Market Street, Bury Road, Wood Lane & Bolton Road North & vice-versa

The Order will come into operation on Tuesday 03 March 2026 and shall remain in force for a period of up to 18 months, although the anticipated duration of the works is 1 evening, 8pm to 11pm
