PUBLIC NOTICE
THE WOLVERHAMPTON CITY COUNCIL (VARIOUS ROADS)
(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER 2026
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Wolverhampton City Council propose to make an Order under Section 14(1)(a) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as substituted by the Road Traffic (Temporary Restrictions) Act 1991, prohibiting vehicles from proceeding on the following stretches of road:
Dalton Street closed its entire length in both directions. It is anticipated that the restrictions will operate for one day between 16 March 2026 until 19 March 2026, between the hours of 08:00 and 17:00. Vehicular Diversion Route: Owen Road, Lime Street, Bristol Street and vice versa.
St Phillips Avenue closed its entire length in both directions. It is anticipated that the restrictions will operate for one day
between 17 March 2026 until 20 March 2026, between the hours of 08:00 and 17:00. Vehicular Diversion Route: Church Road, Oxbarn Avenue, Trysull Road, Birches Barn Road and vice versa.
Old Heath Road closed its entire length in both directions. It is anticipated that the closure will operate for one day between 19 March 2026 and 24 March 2026, between the hours of 09:30 and 15:30. Vehicular Diversion Route: Deans Road, Willenhall Road vice versa.
Mount Road closed its entire length in both directions. It is anticipated that the closure will operate for one day between
21 March 2026 until 24 March 2026, between the hours of 09:30 and 15:00. Vehicular Diversion Route: Penn Road, Church Road, Wakeley Hill and vice versa.
Stowheath Lane closed its entire length in both directions. Vehicular Diversion Route: Bilston Road, Bilston Street Island, Middle Cross, Horseley Fields, Lower Horseley Fields and Willenhall Road and Willenhall Road, Moseley Road, Willenhall Road, Mount Pleasant, Wellington Road. Old Stowheath Lane closed its entire length in both directions. Access/egress to frontages to be maintained. It is anticipated that the closures will operate for one day between 23 March 2026 until 26 March 2026, between the hours of 09:30 and 14:30.
Stafford Street North Bound closed from its junction with Ring Road to Fiveways Island/Junction of Stafford Road. Stafford Street South Bound closed from Fiveways Island/Junction of Stafford Road to its junction with Cannock Road. Vehicular Diversion Route: South Bound: Stafford Road, M54, Cannock Road. Vehicular Diversion Route North Bound: Ring Road, Horseley Fields, Lower Horseley Fields, Willenhall Road, The Keyway, Black Country Route, M6, M54, Stafford Road. It is anticipated that closure will operate for one day between 26 March 2026 and 1 April 2026, between the hours of 19:00 and 05:00 only.
Penn Road closed from its junction with Coalway Road to its junction with Pennhouse Avenue. Vehicular Diversion Route: Ring Road, Birmingham Road, Thompson Avenue, Birmingham New Road, Shaw Road, Hurst Road, Gorge Road, Bilston Street, High Street, Bull Ring, Gospel End Street, Gospel End Road, Wodehouse Lane, Stourbridge Road and vice versa. It is anticipated that the restrictions will be in place for one day between 26 March 2026 and 1 April 2026, between the hours of 19:00 and 05:00 only.
Cannock Road closed in both directions from its junction with Raynor Road to its junction with Victoria Road. Vehicular Diversion Route: Stafford Street, Stafford Road, M54, Cannock Road and vice versa. It is anticipated that the closure will operate for one day between 27 March 2026 and 2 April 2026, between the hours of 19:00 and 05:00 only.
Victoria Road, Fallings Park closed its entire length in both directions. Vehicular Diversion Route: Cannock Road, Bushbury Road and vice versa. It is anticipated that the closure will operate for one day between 27 March 2026 and 2 April 2026, between the hours of 19:00 and 05:00 only.
Thorneycroft Lane closed its entire length in both directions. Prestwood Road closed its entire length in both directions. Prestwood Road West closed its entire length in both directions. Vehicular Diversion Route: Bushbury Road, Cannock Road, Blackhalve Lane, Long Knowle Lane and vice versa. It is anticipated that the closure will operate for one day only between 27 March 2026 and 2 April 2026, between the hours of 19:00 and 05:00 only.
The Order may operate for a maximum period of eighteen months, but it is anticipated that the works will be undertaken on the dates specified above, between the times stipulated.
The Order is required to facilitate pre-patching prior to surface treatment works in the carriageway.
