What is happening?

TEMPORARY ROAD CLOSURE
PORTLAND DRIVE, SHIREBROOK
WHEN: 12 March 2026 (09:30 to 15:30).
WHERE: Portland Drive, Shirebrook at a point 100m south of its jct. with Portland Road for a distance of 25m in a southerly direction.
REASON: To facilitate manhole cover and frame renewal works.
ALTERNATIVE ROUTE: Portland Drive, Weighbridge Road, Meadow Lane, Common Lane, Main Street, King Edward Street, Portland Road, Portland Drive and vice versa.
Access will be maintained, whenever reasonably possible, on the affected length of road. The road will re-open as soon as the work is finished. This may be earlier than advertised. Anyone needing further information should ring Call Derbyshire on 01629 533190. The County Council has made an Order under Section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (as amended) to prohibit its use by traffic.
