TRAFFIC) ORDER 2026 SEWERBY ROAD
LEVEL CROSSING, BRIDLINGTON
East Riding of Yorkshire Council has made an Order the
effect of which is to prohibit any person from causing
any vehicle to proceed/from proceeding along Sewerby
Road Level Crossing, Bridlington and 20 metres either
side of the level crossing commencing 28 March 2026
until 30 March 2026 between 22.00 hours until
06.30 hours (night shift works).
The reason for the closure is to enable the proposed
Sewerby Road Level Crossing, Bridlington renewal of
two insulated block joints and to dig contaminated
ballast works, to be carried out and completed in
a manner consistent with ensuring the safety of
the public. It is anticipated that the works will be
completed within two days. The alternative route
for traffic affected by the Order is via Sewerby Road,
Wheatley Drive, B1255 Marton Gate, Church Lane and
Main Street, Bridlington CP, Bridlington North Ward.
The road will be closed to all traffic without exception.
The Order will commence 28 March 2026 and
continue in force for a period not exceeding eighteen
months or until the works which it is proposed to
carry out have been completed, whichever is the earlier.
