Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Management Order 2026

Surrey County Council propose to make the above-mentioned Temporary Order under section 14(1) and 14(7) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect of which will be to prohibit vehicles from entering or proceeding in that length of; (a) Salisbury Road (D2372) Worcester Park as extends from its junction with (A240) Kingston Road and for a distance of 15 metres in an easterly direction along Salisbury Road; Prohibit vehicles from driving or proceeding at a speed greater than 30 MPH in that length of; (b) the north westbound carriageway of Kingston Road (A240) Epsom as extends from its junction with (B284) Ruxley Lane and for a distance of 300 metres; (c) the south eastbound carriageway of Kingston Road (A240) Epsom as extends from its junction with (B284) Ruxley Lane and for a distance of 300 metres; (d) Suspend “The London Traffic (40MPH Speed Limit) (No.9) Order 1964” or any Order made or having effect as if made under Sections 82, 83 and/or 84 of the Act insofar as affects the length of road described in this Notice. This Temporary Traffic Management Order is required to facilitate carriageway duct repair works and or utility/construction works, and to provide a safe working zone for, or on behalf of Yunex Traffic and Surrey County Council. For sub-paragraph (a) above: These works are anticipated to be carried out over 1 day, between the hours of 8am and 5pm. Advanced warning signs will be displayed, and the temporary closure and prohibition will only operate when the relevant traffic signs are displayed. Access of pedestrians and dismounted cyclists will be maintained at all times. Due to the nature of the works, there will be no vehicular access through the closure, and all traffic will be required to use the signed diversion route. No sole access will be affected by this closure. Alternative Route: Salisbury Road and Timbercroft, or this route in reverse. For sub-paragraph (b)(c)(d) above: These works are anticipated to be carried out over 3 days, between the hours of 8am and 5pm, during the 12-month period of operation of this Temporary Traffic Order which commences on 23 March 2026. Advanced warning signs will be displayed and the temporary speed limit, which is anticipated to be in operation 24 hours per day, will only operate when the relevant traffic signs are displayed. The above restriction shall not apply to vehicles being used in relation to anything done with the permission or at the direction of a police constable in uniform; or in accordance with any restrictions or requirement indicated by traffic signs placed on the road by or on behalf of the Police.
