A50 Trunk Road - Temporary Prohibition Of Traffic To Works
What is happening?
ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984 - SECTION 14(1)(a) and (7)
THE A50 TRUNK ROAD (NORMACOT TO MEIR)
(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER 2026
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that National Highways Limited (Company no. 9346363) has made an order on the A50 Trunk Road, between Normacot and Meir in the City of Stoke-on-Trent and the County of Staffordshire, to allow communication works to be carried out.
The effect of the Order will be to close –
(1) the eastbound carriageway of the A50 from its junction with the slip road leading to the roundabout junction with the A5007 (Alhambra Interchange), at Normacot, to its junction with the slip road leading from the roundabout junction with the A520, at Meir; and
(2) the slip road leading to the eastbound carriageway of the A50 from Alhambra Interchange.
The closures will be carried out over one night between 20:00 hours and 05:00 hours and are expected to start on Monday 16 March 2026. The Order will come into force on 9 March 2026.
Vehicles being used for police, fire and rescue authority or ambulance purposes, and vehicles being used in connection with the works or for winter maintenance purposes will be exempt from the closures.
A diversion route via Uttoxeter Road, the A5005 and the A520 will be signed.
