THE DERBYSHIRE COUNTY COUNCIL (SOUTH NORMANTON & PINXTON) (PROHIBITION AND RESTRICTION OF WAITING AND STOPPING) ORDER 2026
Notice is hereby given that, on the 26th of February 2026 Derbyshire County Council made an Order under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984. The Order will come into operation on the 9th of March 2026 and its effect is:
TO PROHIBIT WAITING AT ANY TIME BY VEHICLES (EXCEPT THOSE DELIVERING OR COLLECTING GOODS OR LOADING AND UNLOADING) ON THE FOLLOWING LENGTHS OF ROAD:
Berristow Lane, South Normanton
East side
From a point 20 metres south of its junction with High View Road (northern part) in a northerly direction, to a point 30 metres north of that junction.
West side
From a point 20 metres south of its junction with High View Road (northern part) in a northerly direction, to a point 30 metres north of that junction.
Carter Lane West, South Normanton
East side
From its junction with Mansfield Road in a northerly direction, for a distance of 32 metres.
West side
From its junction with Mansfield Road in a northerly direction for a distance of 20 metres.
Hamlet Lane, South Normanton
North side
From a point 33 metres east of its junction with Market Street in an easterly direction for a distance of 15 metres.
High View Road, South Normanton

From its junction with Kirkstead Road in a south-easterly direction for a distance of 19 metres.
Exemptions have been made for vehicles used in connection with any building operation or demolition; removal of any obstruction to traffic; carrying out of statutory powers or as part of a funeral or wedding cortege. The usual exemptions for disabled persons’ vehicles displaying a valid disabled person’s badge also apply.
TO LIMIT WAITING BY VEHICLES TO 40 MINUTES NO RETURN WITHIN 1 HOUR, MONDAY TO SATURDAY, 10AM TO 6PM ON THE FOLLOWING LENGTH OF ROAD:
Market Street, South Normanton
West side
From a point 7 metres north of its junction with Bright Street in a northerly direction for a distance of 5 metres.
TO INTRODUCE NO STOPPING ON SCHOOL ENTRANCE MARKINGS TO OPERATE MONDAY TO FRIDAY, 8AM TO 4PM ON THE FOLLOWING LENGTHS OF ROAD:
Alexander Terrace, Pinxton
West side
From a point 19 metres southwest of its junction with Wharf Road in a south westerly direction, for a distance of 31.5 metres.
Kirkstead Road, Pinxton
East side
From a point 38 metres north of its junction with Wilson Street in a northerly direction for a distance of 43.5 metres.
West side
From a point 47 metres north of its junction with Wilson Street in a northerly direction for a distance of 43.5 metres.
From a point 95 metres north of its junction with Wilson Street in a northerly direction for a distance of 37.5 metres.
Wharf Road, Pinxton
South side
From a point 44 metres south-west of its junction with Alexander Terrace in a south-westerly then westerly direction for a distance of 43.5 metres.
Any permanent Traffic Regulation Orders made prior to this Order, insofar as they relate to the lengths of road listed above, have been revoked.
A copy of the Order and documents giving more detailed particulars of the Order are available for inspection at the County Council’s principal offices known as County Hall on Smedley Street in Matlock, Pinxton Library, Kirkstead Road, Pinxton, Derbyshire, NG16 6NA, at South Normanton Library, The Hub, Shiners Way, South Normanton, Derbyshire, DE55 2AA, during opening hours and on request by emailing

(quoting reference Z3443) until 6 weeks after the Order is made until the 9th April 2026.
Any person who wishes to question the validity of the Order, or any provision contained in it, on the ground that it is not within the powers of The Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, or on the ground that a requirement of that Act or any relevant regulation made under it has not been complied with may, within 6 weeks from the 26th of February 2026 make application for the purpose to the High Court.
