What is happening?
THE PORTSMOUTH CITY COUNCIL
(NEW ROAD) (WAITING RESTRICTIONS) ORDER 2025
1. Notice is hereby given that the Portsmouth City Council made the above Order on 2 March 2026. The effect of the Order will be:
a. To remove "No waiting at any time" restrictions (double yellow lines) on New Road - south side, approximately 5 metres long, between the marked bus stop and existing "no waiting at any time" restriction at the junction of New Road and Copnor Road.
2. Copies of the Notices, made Order, Statement of Reasons and Map are available to view on Portsmouth City Council’s website: Search 'Traffic Regulation Orders 2025’ at
Alternatively, they can be viewed at the Civic Offices, Guildhall Square, PO1 2AL, Monday to Friday between 9am - 4pm. Printed copies can be obtained by calling 023 9260 6480.
3. Any person wishing to question the validity of the Order or any of its provisions, on the grounds that it is not within the powers of the relevant enabling Act, or that a requirement of any such enabling Act or of any relevant regulations made thereunder has not been complied with, may, within 6 weeks from the date of the Order, make application for this purpose to the High Court.
4. This Order comes into operation on 9 March 2026.
