(TEMPORARY TRAFFIC MANAGEMENT) (No.1) ORDER 2026
NOTICE is hereby given that Luton Borough Council, the Highway Authority for the said Borough, on 2nd March 2026 made the above Order under the relevant provisions of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (as amended).
The Order will come into operation on 20th March 2026 and cease operation after 29th May 2026 or when the proposed 1Eid events have finished, whichever is the earlier. Specific dates and times will be signed locally. The Order will therefore be in operation during such date and time and to such extent as indicated by traffic signs, barriers or cones.
The effect of the Order will allow the Council to impose temporary No Waiting and No Loading restrictions on the following roads and lengths of roads, namely Alexandra Avenue at its junction with New Bedford Road, Bowling Green Lane the whole length, Cranleigh Gardens at its junction with New Bedford Road, Cromwell Hill the whole length, Cromwell Road at its junction with New Bedford Road, Earls Meade the whole length, Foxglove Way at its junction with New Bedford Road, Knights Field the whole length, Lansdowne Road at its junction with New Bedford Road, Manton Drive at its junction with New Bedford Road, Montrose Avenue from its junction with New Bedford Road to a point outside of property No.19 Montrose Avenue, New Bedford Road from its junction with Fountains Road to its junction with Brook Street, Old Bedford Road from its junction with Stockingstone Road to its junction with Cromwell Hill, Stockingstone Road from its roundabout junction with New Bedford Road to its junction with Old Bedford Road, Studley Road at its junction with New Bedford Road, The Wickets the whole length. Anticipated dates and times of 1Eid events will be 20th March 2026 to 22nd March 2026, 10am to 10pm, and 27th May 2026 to 29th May 2026, 10am to 10pm. In conjunction with the No Waiting and No Loading restrictions the Council intends to temporarily suspend the parking bays on New Bedford Road and on Old Bedford Road.
The Order is intended to create a window for the 1Eid events to take place, and it is anticipated that the 1Eid events will take place over a period within the dates described above. The purpose of the Order is to enable the safe passage of highway users attending the 1Eid events.
For the period of the 1Eid events, when the “No Waiting and No Loading” restrictions apply within the roads and lengths of roads as stated above, any vehicle deemed to be in contravention of the restrictions will be issued with a penalty charge notice and removed. This will be in force when traffic signs, barriers or cones are displayed.
Access will be maintained as best as possible to properties where this may be done safely whilst the 1Eid events are taking place. Further details of the 1Eid events are available by emailing
