STOPPING UP AND DIVERSION (PART OF

FOOTPATH AT ARDGOIL DRIVE, CUMBERNAULD) ORDER 2026

North Lanarkshire Council hereby give notice that they have made an Order under Section 208 of the Town and Country Planning (Scotland) Act 1997 authorising the stopping up and diversion of part of the footpath shown coloured grey on the plan annexed and subscribed as relative to the said Order. The Order is about to be submitted to the Scottish Ministers for confirmation or to be confirmed as an unopposed Order. Part of the footpath will be stopped up and diverted and closed to all traffic (including pedestrian traffic). The stopping up and diversion of part of the footpath is necessary to enable development to be carried out in accordance with planning permission granted under Part III of the said Town and Country Planning (Scotland) Act 1997.

A copy of the Order and relevant plan showing the footpath to be stopped up and diverted may be inspected at the Cumbernauld Library, 8 Allander Walk, Cumbernauld G67 1EE (please check opening times on the website) or at North Lanarkshire Council, Civic Centre, Windmillhill Street, Motherwell, ML1 1AB by any person, free of charge, at all reasonable hours during the consultation period 4 March 2026 to 3 April 2026. A copy will also be available to view on-line at www.northlanarkshire.gov.uk/stopping-up-order during the consultation period.

Objections and representations with respect to the said Order may be emailed to planningenquiry@northlan.gov.uk for the attention of Kirsten Devlin or sent to Kirsten Devlin, North Lanarkshire Council, Civic Centre, Windmillhill Street, Motherwell ML1 1AB. Any objection or representation must be received by the Planning Authority by close of business on Friday 3 April 2026.
