ORDER 2026

On 23 February 2026 the North Lanarkshire Council made the abovenamed Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended by Schedule 1 of the Road Traffic (Temporary Restrictions) Act 1991, and in exercise of all other enabling powers, which makes it unlawful for any person to drive or cause or permit to be driven any motor vehicle (with the exception of vehicles engaged on carriageway resurfacing) on Crossgates, Bellshill from the junction of B7070 Hamilton Road to the junction with Belvidere Road by reason of works being executed on or near that location.

Vehicles under 4.3m/14’3”

Wishing to head north westwards should proceed via (A721) Motherwell Road, (A721) Main Street and (B7070) Hamilton Road.

Vehicles under 4.3m/14’ 3”

Wishing to head south eastwards should proceed via (B7070) Hamilton Road, (A721) North Road, (A775) Campbell Street, (A775) Main Street, (B7029) Calder Road, Calder Road, (A721) Motherwell Road and Crossgates.

Vehicles over 4.30m/14’ 3”

Wishing to head north westwards should proceed via (A721) Motherwell Road, Calder Road, (B7029) Calder Road, (A775) Main Street, (A775) Campbell Street, (A721) Gartcosh Walk, (A725) Bellshill bypass southbound and

(B7070) Hamilton Road

Vehicles over 4.3m/14’ 3”

Wishing to head south eastwards should proceed via (B7070) Hamilton Road,

(A725) Bellshill bypass northbound, (A721) Gatcosh Walk, (A775) Main Street, (B7029) Calder Road, Calder Road, (A721) Motherwell Road and Crossgates.

Pedestrian access will be maintained, where practicable, during the closure.

Vehicular access will be maintained, where practicable, during the closure. The Order, will come into operation at 0001 hours on Thursday, 12 March 2026 and will remain in operation until 2359 hours on Sunday, 21 March 2026.
