What is happening?

HERTFORDSHIRE COUNTY COUNCIL:

(TEMPORARY CLOSING AND TEMPORARY WAITING

RESTRICTIONS IN HIGH STREET, BOVINGDON)

ORDER 2026

NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council intends to make an Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using that length of High Street, Bovingdon from its junction with B4505 Chesham Road south eastwards to its junction with Church Lane, a distance of approximately 361m (“the Road”), except for access.

An alternative route will be via B4505 Chesham Road, Leyhill Road, Green Lane, Bovingdon Green and Green Lane. ADDITIONALLY all vehicles are prohibited from waiting at any time on both sides of this length of the Road whilst works are in progress.

The Order is needed because works are proposed to be executed on or near the Road.

If the Order is made, it shall come into force on 23 March 2026 for a period of up to 18 months. However, the restrictions specified shall only take effect at the times indicated by signs on or near the Road.

(TEMPORARY CLOSING AND TEMPORARY WAITING RESTRICTIONS IN VARIOUS ROADS IN HEMEL

HEMPSTEAD AND TRING) ORDER 2026

NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council intends to make an Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using the following lengths of roads (“the Roads”), except for access and to prohibit all vehicles from waiting at any time on both sides of these lengths of Roads whilst works are in progress:-

1. that length of Pluto Rise, Hemel Hempstead from its junction with Jupiter Drive south westwards and north westwards to its junction with Neptune Drive, a distance of approximately 189m.

An alternative route will be via Jupiter Drive, Uranus Road and Neptune Drive.

2.    that length of Park Street, Tring from its junction with Park Road north eastwards for a distance of approximately 98m. There is no alternative route available for vehicles when the works are being carried out. However vehicular access to properties in this road will be maintained whenever possible throughout the duration of the works.

3.    that length of Lindlings, Hemel Hempstead from its junction with Long Chaulden south westwards and north westwards to its junction with Honeycross Road, a distance of approximately 448m.

An alternative route will be via Long Chaulden and Honeycross Road.

The Order is needed because works are proposed to be executed on or near the Roads.

If the Order is made, it shall come into force on 23 March 2026 for a period of up to 18 months. However, the restrictions specified shall only take effect at the times indicated by signs on or near the Roads.

ORDER 2026

NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council has made the above Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using that length of Oakwood, Berkhamsted from a point 72m south west of its westernmost junction with Shootersway clockwise for a distance of approximately 367m (“the Road”), except for access.

There is no alternative route available for vehicles when the works are being carried out. However vehicular access to properties in this road will be maintained whenever possible throughout the duration of the works.

ADDITIONALLY all vehicles are prohibited from waiting at any time on both sides of this length of the Road whilst works are in progress.

The Order is needed because works are proposed to be executed on or near the Road.

The Order has been made and shall come into force on 9 March 2026 for a period of up to 18 months. However, the restrictions specified shall only take effect at the times indicated by signs on or near the Road.

ORDER NO.2 2026

NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council has made the above Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using the following lengths of roads (“the Roads”), except for access and to prohibit all vehicles from waiting at any time on both sides of these lengths of Roads whilst works are in progress:-

1.   that length of Pickford Road/Cheverells Green/Pickford Road, Markyate from its junction with Valley Lane northwards, north westwards and north eastwards to its junction with High Street, a distance of approximately 2411m.

An alternative route will be via Markyate Street Lane, Gaddesden Row, Gaddesden Lane, Hemel Hempstead Road,

B487 Redbourn Bypass, A5183 (Redbourn Bypass/Dunstable Road), A5 (unnamed road), A5183 (London Road/Dunstable Road), Hicks Road and High Street.

2.   that length of Sebright Road, Markyate from its junction with Pickford Road north westwards and north eastwards for a distance of approximately 149m.

There is no alternative route available for vehicles when the works are being carried out. However vehicular access to properties in this road will be maintained whenever possible throughout the duration of the works.

3.    that length of Hicks Road, Markyate from its junction with High Street north eastwards to its junction with A5183 Dunstable Road, a distance of approximately 191m. An alternative route will be via High Street, London Road and A5183 Dunstable Road.

The Order is needed because works are proposed to be executed on or near the Roads.

The Order has been made and shall come into force on 9 March 2026 for a period of up to 18 months. (TEMPORARY CLOSING OF A4146 LEIGHTON BUZZARD ROAD, HEMEL HEMPSTEAD) ORDER 2026

NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council has made the above Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using that length of A4146 Leighton Buzzard Road, Hemel Hempstead from its junction with the A414 St Albans Road/ Lawn Lane roundabout north westwards and north eastwards to its junction with the Combe Street roundabout, a distance of approximately 844m (“the Road”), except for access.

An alternative route will be via A414 St Albans Road, A4147 (Maylands Avenue/Swallowdale Lane), B487 Queensway and A4146 Leighton Buzzard Way.

The Order is needed because the decommissioning of a tower is proposed to be executed near the Road. The Order has been made and shall come into force on 8 March 2026 for a period of up to 18 months. However, the restrictions specified shall only take effect at the times indicated by signs on or near the Road.

(TEMPORARY CLOSING OF HIGH STREET, HEMEL HEMPSTEAD) ORDER 2026

NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council has made the above Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using that length of High Street, Hemel Hempstead from its junction with B487 Queensway north eastwards and north westwards to its junction with Piccotts End, a distance of approximately 421m (“the Road”), except for access.

An alternative route will be via B487 Queensway, A4146

Leighton Buzzard Road, A4147 Link Road and Piccotts End. The Order is needed because works are proposed to be executed on or near the Road.

The Order has been made and shall come into force on 7 March 2026 for a period of up to 18 months. However, the restrictions specified shall only take effect at the times indicated by signs on or near the Road.

THE HERTFORDSHIRE (BELSWAINS LANE AND

BELMONT ROAD, HEMEL HEMPSTEAD) 

(RESTRICTION OF WAITING) ORDER 2026

NOTICE is given that the Hertfordshire County Council in order to improve road safety proposes under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 to introduce new waiting restrictions in parts of Belswains Lane and Belmont Road, Hemel Hempstead as specified in the Schedule to this Notice.

Documents giving more detailed particulars of the proposals may be viewed from 4 March 2026 during office hours, at Main Reception, Farnham House, Stevenage, or on-line at www.hertfordshire.gov.uk/trafficorders by selecting Dacorum and looking at Ref: D00226.
