What is happening?
PUBLIC NOTICE
THE WOLVERHAMPTON CITY COUNCIL (PENN ROAD) (TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER 2026
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Wolverhampton City Council have made an Order under Section 14(1)(a) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as substituted by the Road Traffic (Temporary Restrictions) Act 1991, prohibiting vehicles from proceeding on the following stretches of road:
• Penn Road at its junction with Coalway Road and its junction Pennhouse Avenue.
Vehicular Diversion Route: Penn Road, Stourbridge Road, Woodhouse Lane, Gospel End Road, High Street, Wolverhampton Road, Wolverhampton Road East, Goldthorn Hill vice versa.
• Witton Road at its junction with Penn Road. Access/ egress to frontages to be maintained.
• Coalway Avenue at its junction with Penn Road. Access/egress to frontages to be maintained.
• Alexandrea Road at its junction with Penn Road. Access/egress to frontages to be maintained.
• Mount Road at its junction with Penn Road. Access/ egress to frontages to be maintained.
• Woodfield Avenue at its junction with Penn Road. Access/egress to frontages to be maintained.
• Bromley Place at its junction with Penn Road. Access/egress to frontages to be maintained.
• Wynn Road at its junction with Penn Road. Access/ egress to frontages to be maintained.
• Muchall Road at its junction with Penn Road. Access/ egress to frontages to be maintained.
• Osborne Road at its junction with Penn Road. Access/ egress to frontages to be maintained.
• lartwood Crescent at its junction with Penn Road. Access/egress to frontages to be maintained.
The Order may operate for a maximum period of eighteen months, but it is anticipated that the works will be undertaken on weekdays from 3 March 2026 until 10 March 2026, between the hours of 19:00 and 05:00.
The Order is required to facilitate hydro blasting of the carriageway surface by City of Wolverhampton Council.
