The reason for the said closure is for tree works and carriageway patching. The said road is expected to be closed from 2nd March 2026 until 3rd March 2026 only or until the said works have been completed. Gloucestershire County Council, as traffic authority has made an Order under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (as amended) to temporarily restrict part of the road 490707 Kensington Avenue for a distance of approximately 181 metres. 

There will be no stopping or waiting or loading permitted during the restriction apart from Zone 14 Permit Holders Only. The reason for the said restriction is for safety during the Cheltenham Racecourse Event. 

The said road is expected to be restricted from 5th March 2026 to 15th March 2026 where the presence of approved signage will indicate whether the restrictions are in force.

TEMPORARY CLOSURE AND RESTRICTION OF VARIOUS ROADS  (BARNWOOD WARD) GLOUCESTER CITY 

Gloucestershire County Council, as traffic authority, has made an Order under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (as amended) to temporarily close and restrict part of the lengths of road as detailed in the Schedule below. 

SCHEDULE

The reason for the said closures is for highway Improvement works in connection with a new development. 

There will be a speed reduction, from 40mph to 30mph, for safety reasons, for the duration of the said works, in respect of the relevant stated length of road indicated in the above Schedule. 

There will be no stopping or waiting permitted throughout the duration of the said works in respect of the length of road indicated in the above Schedule. 

The said restrictions are expected to commence on 2nd March 2026, where the presence of approved signage will indicate closures are in force. 

Further advance warnings of dates/times will be displayed on site prior to the said closures taking effect. 

This Order may permit the said closures and restrictions in any order, or simultaneously as required and it is anticipated all works will be completed by 4th December 2026.
