(Temporary Prohibition of Traffic & Use) Order 2026
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that because works associated with replacement of the railway bridge are to take place are proposed to be executed on or near the under mentioned highway(s); Leeds City Council has today made an Order, the effect of which is that: 1. No Person shall cause any vehicles to proceed on A656 Ridge Road in either direction between Phoenix Avenue and a point approximately 340m south of Church Lane (whilst the road closure is in place) 2. No Heavy Goods Vehicles weighing in excess of 7.5 Tonnes and above, shall proceed (except for access) on sections of A656 Ridge Road; Ridge Road, Micklefield and Great North Road, Micklefield or along the full lengths of Bar Lane, Garforth; B6137 Lidgett Lane, Garforth; B6137 Main Street, Garforth; Church Lane, Micklefield and Ninelands Lane, Garforth. 3. No person shall proceed on foot, cycle or horse on a section of A656 Ridge Road. 4. In addition, the existing Prohibition of Heavy Goods Vehicles weighing in excess of 7.5 Tonnes on a section of A642 Aberford Road and Wakefield Road, Garforth weighing in excess of 7.5 Tonnes between their junctions with the A656 Ridge Road and A63 Selby Road will be temporarily suspended: Local diversion routes for affected vehicles will be signed as required, using A642 Aberford/ Wakefield Road and A63 Selby Road. Diversion routes for affected pedestrians, cyclists and horse riders from one side of the railway to the other will be signed via Phoenix Avenue, Pit Lane, Great North Road and public footpaths Micklefield 16/Micklefield 3 and vice versa. Essential access to and from premises and for emergency vehicles will be maintained from the appropriate side of the closure. The Order shall come into force on Monday 2 March for a maximum period of 18 months. The works are expected to be completed by Friday 4 December

(Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2026
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that because gas main replacement works are being or are proposed to be executed on or near the under mentioned highway(s); Leeds City Council has today made an Order, the effect of which is that: No person shall cause or permit any vehicle to travel along Back Sandhurst Place/Back Sandhurst Grove, Harehills, Leeds; at the junctions with Harehills Lane. Diversionary routes for vehicles affected by the closure will be available via:
Back Sandhurst Place: Dorset Road, Sandhurst Place, Harehills Lane and vice versa & via Back Sundhurst Grove: Dorset Road, Sandhurst Grove, Harehills Lane and vice versa. Essential access to and from premises and for emergency vehicles will be maintained. The Order shall come into operation on Thursday 26 February 2026 and will remain in force for a maximum period of 18 months or until the works are completed if earlier. The works are expected to be completed by Wednesday 11 March 2026. The closure will be in place for 24 hrs per day.

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN That because new electrical connection works are being or are proposed to be executed on or near the under mentioned highway; Leeds City Council has today made an Order, the effect of which is that: No person shall cause or permit any vehicle to travel along Cliff Lane, Headingley, Leeds; between its junctions with Grosvenor Mount and Cross Cliff Road. A diversionary route for vehicles affected by the closure will be available via: Cross Cliff Road, Cliff Road, Woodhouse Lane, Headingley Lane, Grosvenor Road, Grosvenor Mount and vice versa. The Order shall come into operation on Wed 4 March 2026 and will remain in force for a maximum period of 18 months or until the works are completed if earlier. A diversionary route for vehicles affected by the closure will be available via: King Street, St Paul’s Street, Central Street. NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that because carriageway excavation and reconstruction works are being or are proposed to be executed on or near the under mentioned highway, Leeds City Council has today made make an Order, the effect of which is that: No person shall cause or permit any vehicle to travel along the full length of Commercial Street, Rothwell. Diversionary routes for vehicles affected by the closure will be available via: a.Gillett Lane, Park West, Ingram Parade, Church Street and vice versa. b. Marsh Street, Butcher Lane. The Order shall come into operation on Monday 2 March 2026 and will remain in force for a maximum period of 18 months or until the works are completed if earlier. (Definitive Footpath Sturton Grange No.4)
(Temporary Prohibition of Use) Order 2026 – Garforth & Micklefield, Leeds
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that because works are to be undertaken to replace the bridge carrying the A656 Ridge Road over the Leeds to York railway line as part of the TransPennine Route Upgrade, Leeds City Council has today made an Order In the interests of public safety, the effect of which is that: No person shall proceed along Definitive Footpath Sturton Grange No.4 between its junction with the A656 Ridge Road to a point approximately 700m to the west, in the Garforth & Swillington Ward. A diversionary route is available and will be signed via Definitive Footpaths, Sturton Grange 3, Sturton Grange 7, Sturton Grange 2/Garforth 29 (Sturton Grange Lane), Braemar Drive, New Sturton Lane, and vice versa. It will still be possible to follow Definitive Footpath Garforth 17 And Sturton Grange 4 from New Sturton Lane to the closure point and back (approximately 500m each way) .The Order shall come into operation on 2 March 2026 and to remain in force, for an initial period of 6 months.
