THE WOLVERHAMPTON CITY COUNCIL
(WILLENHALL ROAD) (TEMPORARY
PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER 2026
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Wolverhampton City Council have made an Order under Section 14(1)(a) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as substituted by the Road Traffic (Temporary Restrictions) Act 1991, prohibiting vehicles from proceeding on the following stretches of road:
• Willenhall Road closed eastbound from its junction with Neachells Lane to its junction with the Keyway Island. Vehicular Diversion Route: Willenhall Road, Lower Horseley Fields, Horseley Fields, Middle Cross, Ring Road, Bilston Road, Wellington Road, Lichfield Street, Oxford Street, Black Country Route and The Keyway. It is anticipated that the closure will operate from 2 March 2026 until 3 March 2026, between the hours of 20:00 and 06:00.
• Noose Lane closed in both directions at its junction with Willenhall Road. Vehicular Diversion Route: Neachells Lane, Watery Lane, Noose Lane and vice versa. It is anticipated that the closure will operate from 2 March 2026 until 3 March 2026, between the hours of 20:00 and 06:00.
• Willenhall Road closed westbound only from its junction with the Keyway Island to its junction with Neachells Lane. Vehicular Diversion Route: Keyway, Black Country Route, Oxford Street, Lichfield Street, Wellington Road, Bilston Road, Ring Road, Middle Cross, Horseley Fields, Lower Horseley Fields and Willenhall Road. It is anticipated that the closure will operate from 3 March 2026 until 4 March 2026, between the hours of 20:00 and 06:00.
The Order may operate for a maximum period of eighteen months, but it is anticipated that the works will be undertaken on the dates detailed above, between the times specified.
The Order is required to facilitate the removal of existing road markings, and replacement of line markings for a newly installed signalised crossing, as part of the installation of a cycle lane by Wolverhampton City Council.
