WAKEFIELD COUNCIL ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984 –

SECTION 14

 (HIGH STREET, CASTLEFORD)

(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER (NO 50) 2026

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Council of the City of Wakefield has made an Order on traffic management grounds for annual level crossing test to be carried out as follows:

ROAD TO BE CLOSED: High Street, Castleford, 20 metres either side of the level crossing. The Order shall also have the effect of closing any roads at their junctions the closed length of High Street.

ALTERNATIVE ROUTES: Albion Street, Wood

Street, Methley Road, Jin Whin Hill, Lumley Hill,

Lumley Street, High Street & vice versa

PERIOD OF CLOSURE: From and including 2nd March 2026 at 22.30 hours to 3rd March 2026 at 05.30 hours or until completion of the works, whichever is sooner.

Access to the premises on the closed length of road will be maintained whenever possible.

(CARLETON GLEN, PONTEFRACT)

(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER (NO 54) 2026

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Council of the City of Wakefield has made an Order on traffic management grounds for microsurfacing 2026 to be carried out as follows:

ROAD TO BE CLOSED: Carleton Glen,

Pontefract. The Order shall also have the effect of closing any roads at their junctions the closed length of Carleton Glen.

ALTERNATIVE ROUTES: N/A

PERIOD OF CLOSURE: From and including 4th March 2026 to 5th March 2026 or until completion of the works, whichever is sooner. Access to the premises on the closed length of road will be maintained whenever possible.

(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER (NO 55) 2026

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Council of the City of Wakefield has made an Order on traffic management grounds for microsurfacing 2026 to be carried out as follows:-

ROAD TO BE CLOSED: Villa Close, Ackworth. The Order shall also have the effect of closing any roads at their junctions the closed length of Villa Close.

ALTERNATIVE ROUTES: N/A

PERIOD OF CLOSURE: From and including

4th March 2026 or until completion of the works, whichever is sooner.

Access to the premises on the closed length of road will be maintained whenever possible.

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Council of the City of Wakefield has made an Order on traffic management grounds for microsurfacing 2026 to be carried out as follows:-

ROAD TO BE CLOSED: York Place, Ackworth. The Order shall also have the effect of closing any roads at their junctions the closed length of York Place.

ALTERNATIVE ROUTES: N/A

PERIOD OF CLOSURE: From and including 4th March 2026 or until completion of the works, whichever is sooner.

(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER (NO 57) 2026

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Council of the City of Wakefield has made an Order on traffic management grounds for microsurfacing 2026 to be carried out as follows:-

ROAD TO BE CLOSED: Denton Gardens,

Ackworth. The Order shall also have the effect of closing any roads at their junctions the closed length of Denton Gardens.

ALTERNATIVE ROUTES: N/A

PERIOD OF CLOSURE: From and including 3rd March 2026 to 4th March 2026 or until completion of the works, whichever is sooner. Access to the premises on the closed length of road will be maintained whenever possible.

(NEWSTEAD CRESCENT, FITZWILLIAM)

(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER (NO 58) 2026

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Council of the City of Wakefield has made an Order on traffic management grounds for microsurfacing 2026 to be carried out as follows:-

ROAD TO BE CLOSED: Newstead Crescent,

Fitzwilliam. The Order shall also have the effect of closing any roads at their junctions the closed length of Newstead Crescent.

ALTERNATIVE ROUTES: N/A

PERIOD OF CLOSURE: From and including

3rd March 2026 or until completion of the works, whichever is sooner.

Access to the premises on the closed length of road will be maintained whenever possible.

(CHESTNUT DRIVE, SOUTH HIENDLEY)

(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER (NO 59) 2026

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Council of the City of Wakefield has made an Order on traffic management grounds for microsurfacing 2026 to be carried out as follows:-

ROAD TO BE CLOSED: Chestnut Drive, South Hiendley. The Order shall also have the effect of closing any roads at their junctions the closed length of Chestnut Drive.

ALTERNATIVE ROUTES: N/A

PERIOD OF CLOSURE: From and including

3rd March 2026 or until completion of the works, whichever is sooner.

Access to the premises on the closed length of road will be maintained whenever possible.

(THE RIDGEWAY, KNOTTINGLEY)

(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER (NO 77) 2026

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Council of the City of Wakefield intend to make an Order on traffic management grounds  for carriageway resurfacing to be carried out as follows:-

ROAD TO BE CLOSED: The Ridgeway,

Knottingley full length. The Order shall also have the effect of closing any roads at their junctions the closed length of The Ridgeway.

ALTERNATIVE ROUTES: Spawd Bone Lane,

England Lane, Southfield Road & vice versa

PERIOD OF CLOSURE: From and including 08.00 hours on 16th March 2026 to 18.00 hours on 19th March 2026 or until completion of the works, whichever is sooner.

Access to the premises on the closed length of road will be maintained whenever possible.

(FOOTPATH 35, BEANCROFT ROAD

SUBWAY, CASTLEFORD)

(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF USE) ORDER (NO 78) 2026

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Council of the City of Wakefield by reason of works to allow for installation of new public artwork t o be carried out on or near Footpath 35, Beancroft Road subway, Castleford, full length, and the likelihood of danger arising to the public, intend not less than 7 days from the date of this notice to make an Order the effect of which will be that no person shall proceed in the length of public footpath.

Alternative route for pedestrians:  Cambridge Street, Station Road, Carlton Street, Powell Street, Wellbeck Street & vice versa. The order comes into operation on 16th March 2026 to 20th March 2026.
