Suffolk, Multiple Temporary Road & Footpath Closures Due To Various Works

What is happening?

SUFFOLK COUNTY COUNCIL

Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984: Section 14 - Temporary Closure Of Part Of Footpath 26 And Footpath 27, Kelsale Cum Carlton

Suffolk County Council Intends to make an order closing the following footpaths:

- Footpath 26, Kelsale cum Carlton from the level crossing for 45 metres south westbound.

- Footpath 27, Kelsale cum Carlton from the level crossing for 30 metres south eastbound.

This is to facilitate track renewal works. Other co-ordinated works may also take place during this period. It is intended that the closures will operate from:

- 06/03/2026 - 09/03/2026 from 10:00pm – 6:00am.

- 13/03/2026 - 16/03/2026 from 10:00pm – 6:00am.

- 20/03/2026 - 23/03/2026 from 10:00pm – 6:00am.

- 10:00pm on 28/04/2026 – 6:00am on 29/04/2026.

- 10:00pm on 29/04/2026 – 6:00am on 30/04/2026.

If necessary, the order may remain in force for 6 months (or longer if extended by the Minister).

Temporary Closure Of Part Of The B1063 Cropley Grove, Ousden

Suffolk County Council has made an order closing the B1063 Cropley Grove, Ousden from the road from the County Boundary to the A143 to Coes Cottage to facilitate fibre ducting works. Other co-ordinated works may also take place during this period.

Access will be open for pedestrians and cyclists.

The diversion route will be: the B1063, the A1304, the B1506, the B1085 and vice versa.

It is intended that the closure will operate from 25/02/2026 -27/02/2026 but, if necessary, the order may remain in force for 18 months (or longer if extended by the Minister).

Temporary Closure Of Part Of The C689 Bull Road, Pakenham

Suffolk County Council has made an order closing the C689 Bull Road, Pakenham from the junction with Fen Road to Home Farm to facilitate the installation of a fibre network. Other co-ordinated works may also take place during this period.

Access will be open for pedestrians and cyclists.

The diversion route will be: Fen Road, The Street, Thurston Road, the A143 Ixworth, Stow Lane, Ixworth Road, Bull Road vice versa.

It is intended that the closure will operate from 25/02/2026 -27/02/2026 but, if necessary, the order may remain in force for 18 months (or longer if extended by the Minister).

Temporary Closure And Suspension Of 7.5 Tonne Weight Restriction On Part Of The C466 The Street, C495 Swan Hill, Chattisham, Copdock And Washbrook And Sproughton

Suffolk County Council has made an order closing the C466 The Street, Chattisham from Rivendell to Elm Cottage to facilitate tree trimming from power cables. Other co-ordinated works may also take place during this period.

Access will be open for pedestrians and cyclists.

The diversion route will be: The Street, Chattisham, Chattisham Road, Hollow Road,, Back Lane, The Street, Copdock and Washbrook, Swan Hill, the A1071, Duke Street, Clay Hill and vice versa.

For the duration of this closure there will be a suspension of the 7.5 tonne weight restriction on the:

- C495 Swan Hill, Copdock and Washbrook.

- C495 Swan Hill, Sproughton.

It is intended that these measures will operate from 25/02/2026 - 27/02/2026 from 8:00am – 5:00pm. If necessary, the order may remain in force for 18 months (or longer

if extended by the Minister).

Temporary Closure Of Part Of The U8413 Ipswich Road, Elmsett

Suffolk County Council has made an order closing the U8413 Ipswich Road, Elmsett from the junction with The Street to Potash Farm to facilitate civil works. Other co-ordinated works may also take place during this period.

Access will be open for pedestrians and cyclists.

The diversion route will be: Ipswich Road, Hadleigh Road, The Street and vice versa.

It is intended that the closure will operate from 25/02/2026 -10/03/2026 but, if necessary, the order may remain in force for 18 months (or longer if extended by the Minister).

Temporary Closure Of Part Of The U2409 East Green And North Green, Kelsale Cum Carlton

Suffolk County Council intends to make an order closing the following roads:

1. U2409 East Green, Kelsale Cum Carlton from the level crossing for 20 metres eastbound and 20 metres westbound.

2. U2409 North Green, Kelsale Cum Carlton from the level crossing for 20 metres northbound and 20 metres southbound.

This is to facilitate track renewal. Other co-ordinated works may also take place during this period.

Access will be open for pedestrians and cyclists.

The diversion routes will be:

1. Butchers Road, Lowes Hill and vice versa.

2. Town Farm Lane, the A12, the B1122 and vice versa.

It is intended that the closure will operate from:

1. U2409 East Green

- 10:00pm on 06/03/2026 – 6:00am on 09/03/2026.

- 10:00pm on 13/03/2026 – 6:00am on 16/03/2026.

- 10:00pm on 20/03/2026 – 6:00am on 23/03/2026.

- 28/04/2026 - 30/04/2026 from 10:00pm – 6:00am.

2. U2409 North Green

- 10:00pm on 06/03/2026 – 6:00am on 09/03/2026.

- 10:00pm on 13/03/2026 – 6:00am on 16/03/2026.

- 10:00pm on 20/03/2026 – 6:00am on 23/03/2026.

If necessary, the order may remain in force for 18 months (or longer if extended by the Minister).

Temporary Closure Of Part Of The B1079 Grundisburgh Road, Hasketon

Suffolk County Council intends to make an order closing the B1079 Grundisburgh Road, Hasketon from the junction with Lower Road to the junction with Mill Lane to facilitate overlaying telecommunications infrastructure. Other co-ordinated works may also take place during this period.

Access will be open for pedestrians and cyclists.

The diversion route will be: Grundisburgh Road. Grove Road, the A12 Hasketon, the A12 Melton, the A12 Bredfield, the A12 Ufford, Charsfield Road, Wickham Market Road, Ipswich Road, Charsfield Road, Grundisburgh Road and vice versa.

It is intended that the closure will operate from 06/03/2026 -26/03/2026 but, if necessary, the order may remain in force for 18 months (or longer if extended by the Minister).
