(Micro Asphalting Programme 2026 - Various Roads, County Durham) (Temporary Road Closure) Order 2026

The Council on 13/2/2026 made the above Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from proceeding on the following lengths of road. Castle View, Chester le Street; Coleridge Gardens, Dipton, Meadow View, Dipton; South Cross Street (and back), Tindale Street (and back), Railway Street (and back), New Watling Street back, Leadgate; Roddymoor Court, Myrtle Grove, Oak Gardens, Roddymoor, Crook; Deneside, Howden le Wear; Wheatfield Gardens, Crook; Walmer Avenue, Bishop Auckland; Balmoral Grove, Bishop Auckland; Westerton View, Coundon; Fallow Road, Hind Court, Fawn Close, Woodham Village; The Bridle, Woodham Village; Farnham Road and Kirkham Road, Newton Hall; Woodside, Shadforth; Burnett Crescent, Kelloe; Red Ridges, Red Court, Commercial Square and Grey Ridges, Brandon; Petwell Crescent, Easington; Shakespeare Terrace, Milton Lane & Wordsworth Road, Easington Colliery; Cotsford Lane, Dixon Rise & Reynolds Court, C80 and Cotsford Park Estate, Horden Linden Road, Ferryhill; Brancepeth Road (no.1-119), Ferryhill; Errington Drive, Tanfield; The Grange (no; 5-59), Tanfield; Mown Meadows Road, Crook; Station Estate East and Wellfield Road, Murton; Lane past East Farm (Hawthorn House), Cold Hesledon; Glebe View and Cromer Lea, Frosterley; Mill Race, Wolsingham; (Phase 2) Startforth–Corn Close, Boldron Lane, Low Startforth Road, Gill Lane; Unc 40.3 Nemour Hill, Egglestone; High Street–Brockerscliff, Witton le Wear; William Place/Wilans Buildings, Durham; Petwell Lane, Easington Colliery; Park Drive and Bridge Way, Langley Park; Fenhall Park, Lanchester; St Pauls Gardens junc St Pauls Close/Oak Tees/St Pauls St, Spennymoor; St Marys Grove–Ashton Court, Spennymoor; Gilbert Road, Kemp Road & Heron Close, Peterlee; Basingstoke Road, Peterlee; Shadforth Close and Unc 28.10 Old Shotton Lane East, Old Shotton; Viador, Chester le Street and Milbank Close to Ouston Villa Farm, Ouston, Chester le Street to enable carriageway micro-asphalt surfacing works to be undertaken.

The restrictions will be applied by appropriate signs per site as required and typically required for 1 day per location. Diversions will be signed on site where available and required, plans of the closures are available upon request by highways.orders@durham.gov.uk. The maximum duration of the Order is 18 months. The proposed works are to commence on 23/2/2026 and are anticipated to be completed in 7 months. On occasions, alternative dates for the closure may be necessary and these will be signed on site accordingly.
