(EXPERIMENTAL STOPPING AND LOADING RESTRICTIONS) ORDER 2026

Notice is hereby given that on the 27th day of February 2026 the Barnsley Metropolitan Borough Council made the above-named Order under the provisions of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (as amended) the effect of which is to introduce an Experimental Traffic Regulation Order which will make changes to stopping and loading restrictions on New Street, Barnsley.

The order will come into effect on 6th March 2026 for a trial period of 18 months during which time the Council will assess the effectiveness of the restrictions and the impact it has on the road. It will then be considered whether the measures should be continued in force permanently.

If you wish to object to any of the restrictions being introduced on a permanent basis or make any other representations you should submit them in writing, stating the grounds, by e-mail to trofeedback@barnsley.gov.uk or by post to the Head of Transport & Highways (Traffic Management), PO Box 601 Barnsley S70 9FA no later than 6th September 2026.
