Notification of Road Closure for Special Event
Notice is hereby given that Newry, Mourne and Down District
Council using its powers under Article 8A of the Road Traffic Regulation
(Northern Ireland) Order 1997, proposes to prohibit vehicles for the
following events:
• Newry, Mourne and Down District Council for the purposes of
St Patrick’s Day Celebrations, Newry
• PIPS Hope and Support for the purposes of PIPS Hope and Support
Colour Run
• Newry City Runners for the purposes of Newry City Half Marathon
and 10k
St Patrick’s Day Celebrations, Newry
Roads: Hill Street, Albert Basin, Newry
The restriction will start on Tuesday 17 March 2026 from 8am to 7pm
PIPS Hope and Support Colour Run
Roads: Rampart Road, Greenbank Industrial Estate, Newry
The restriction will start on Monday 6 April 2026 from 1pm to 5pm
Newry City Half Marathon and 10k
Roads: Albert Basin Road from service access to Sainsburys to Dublin
Road Bridge. Left lane from Dublin Road to River Street. River Street,
Kilmorey Street from junction to River Street, Warrenpoint Road to
A2 roundabout. Greenbank A2 from Warrenpoint at Narrow Water
roundabout to Greenbank roundabout, Newry.
The restriction will start on Sunday 24 May 2026 from 9am to 1pm
Alternative routes will be signed for all events.

diversion maps may be inspected electronically at
