Local Government (Miscellaneous Provisions) Act 1976

North Somerset Council gives notice that it proposes to vary the fees for the following licences: Hackney Carriage and Private Vehicle Licences. New first-time grant of licence (inclusive of plates and test) - Hackney Carriages £240, Private Hire Vehicles £250. Renewal of an existing licence (inclusive of plates and test) - Hackney Carriages £185 Private Hire Vehicles £195. In accordance with Section 70 of The Local Government (Miscellaneous Provisions) Act 1976, a copy of the proposed fees is available for inspection at the Licensing Office, North Somerset Council, Town Hall, Weston-super-Mare BS23 1UJ between 9am and 4pm (Mon to Fri). Persons wishing to object to the above fees must make their objection in writing to The Licensing Manager, North Somerset Council, Town Hall, Weston-super-Mare BS23 1UJ no later than 19 March 2026.

Notice is hereby given that North Somerset Council in pursuance of the provisions of section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, intend to make an order the effect of which:

Barton Road, Winscombe, North Somerset

Temporary Prohibition of Use by Vehicles Order 2026

Date coming into Force: 22 April 2026

Will be to close, temporarily, to vehicles the lengths of roads specified in the Schedule to this Notice. Exemptions are included for emergency services, works access, works vehicles and access permit for premises which may only be accessed via the closed section of road.

This order is required because of the likelihood of danger to the public consequent upon work by Openreach Limited for cabling work. This order will become operative on the 22 April 2026 for a maximum period of eighteen months. However, the closures may not be implemented for the whole of the period but only as necessitated by the works which is anticipated to be of 6 hours in duration between 9.30am and 3.30pm. Appropriate traffic signs will be displayed when the measures are in force.

Final Notice of Temporary Traffic Regulation Order

Notice is hereby given that North Somerset District Council in pursuance of the provisions of section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, has made the order the effect of which:

Station Road, Worle, Weston-super-Mare, North Somerset

Temporary Prohibition of Use by Vehicles and Cyclists Order 2026

Date coming into force: 23 February 2026

Will be to close, temporarily, to vehicles and cyclists the lengths of roads specified in the Schedule to this Notice.

This order is required because of highway drainage maintenance works and will become operative on 23 February 2026, anticipated to be of 5 days. The road closure will be in effect for 24 hours a day. The maximum period for the closures is eighteen months, however, the closures may not be implemented for the whole of the period but only as necessitated by the works.

Schedule - Station Road, Worle, Weston-super-Mare for entire extents.

Alternative routes - High Street, Old Bristol Road, New Bristol Road and vice-versa.

Oldmixon Road and Hutton Hill, Hutton, North Somerset

Temporary Prohibition of Use by Vehicles Order 2026

Date coming into force: 23 February 2026

Ref: T26-02

Will be to close, temporarily, to vehicles the lengths of roads specified in the Schedule to this Notice. Exemptions are included for emergency services and any vehicle associated with the works.

This order is required in the interest of public safety and to facilitate kerb build out and associated road marking. It will become operative on 23 February 2026 for a maximum period of eighteen months. However, the restrictions may not be implemented for the whole of the period but only as necessitated, which is expected to be for 5 nights in duration between 7pm and 11.59pm. Appropriate traffic signs, cones, road safety barriers and traffic diversion route signage will be displayed when the measures are in force.

Schedule - Phase 1 Oldmixon Road, Hutton from the junction of Church Lane to a point in a westerly direction along said road for 72m. Phase 2 Hutton Hill, Hutton from its junction with Canada Combe to its junction with Vereland Road.

Alternative Routes - Oldmixon Road, Hutton - Main Road, Hutton Hill, Banwell Road, A371 Locking Moor Road, The Runway, Winterstoke Road and vice-versa. Hutton Hill, Hutton - Banwell Road, A371 Locking Moor Road, The Runway, Winterstoke Road, Oldmixon Road, Main Road and vice-versa.

Various Footpaths, Churchill and Sandford, North Somerset

Temporary Prohibition of Use by Pedestrians Order 2026

Ref: T26-03

Will be to close, temporarily, to pedestrians the lengths of footpath specified in Schedule of this notice. Exemptions are included for emergency services, access to properties and works access.

This order is required because of work being executed on the footpath by North Somerset Council to upgrade the route. This order will become operative on 16 February 2026 for a maximum period of six months. However, the closures may not be implemented for the whole of the period but only as necessitated by the works which is anticipated to be of 4 months in duration. Appropriate signs will be displayed when the measures are in force.

Schedule - Footpath AX14/21/20 between the junction of AX14/21/20 with Churchill Green and footpath AX29/5/10. Footpath AX29/5/10 between the junction of AX29/5/10 with Greenhill Road and footpath AX14/21/20. Footpath AX14/36/10 between footpath AX14/36/20 and footpath AX14/34/10. Footpath AX14/36/20 between footpath AX14/36/30 and footpath AX14/36/10. Footpath AX14/36/30 between the junction of AX14/36/30 with Church Lane and footpath AX14/36/20. Temporary Prohibition of Use by Vehicles and Cyclists Order 2026

Date coming into force: 16 February 2026

Will be to close, temporarily, to vehicles and cyclists the lengths of roads specified in the Schedule to this Notice. Exemptions are included for emergency services, any vehicle associated with the works and for access to properties only accessible from within the specified lengths of roads.

This Order is because of work being executed on the road by North Somerset Council to construct highway improvements and will become operative on the 16 February 2026 for a maximum period of eighteen months. However, the closures may not be implemented for the whole of the period but only as necessitated by the works which are anticipated to be over a two-month period. Not all roads will be closed at the same time and appropriate traffic management and signage will be displayed when the measures are in force.

Schedule - Churchill: Churchill Green between the junctions of Duck Street and Church Lane. Church Lane between the junction of Churchill Green and King Road. Ladymead Lane between the junction of Bristol Road and Pudding Pie Lane. Winscombe: Church Road between the junctions of Woodborough Road and Parsons Way. Temporary Prohibition of Use by Vehicles Order 2026

Date coming into Force: 4 March 2026

Will be to close, temporarily, to vehicles the lengths of roads specified in the Schedule to this Notice. Exemptions are included for emergency services, works access, works vehicles and access permit for premises which may only be accessed via the closed section of road.

This order was required because of the likelihood of danger to the public consequent upon work by Openreach to overlay approximately 620m of duct in carriageway and verge to link existing BT boxes. This order will become operative on the 4 March 2026 for a maximum period of eighteen months. However, the closures may not be implemented for the whole of the period but only as necessitated by the works which is anticipated to be of 7 days in duration. Appropriate traffic signs will be displayed when the measures are in force.

Temporary Prohibition of Use by Vehicles Order 2026

Date coming into Force: 2 March 2026

Will be to close, temporarily, to vehicles the lengths of roads specified in the Schedule to this Notice. Exemptions are included for emergency services, works access, works vehicles and works permit for premises which may only be accessed via the closed section of road.

This order was required because of the likelihood of danger to the public consequent upon work by National Grid for pole changes for new supply connection. This order will become operative on the 2 March 2026 for a maximum period of eighteen months. However, the closures may not be implemented for the whole of the period but only as necessitated by the works which is anticipated to be of 3 days in duration. Appropriate traffic signs will be displayed when the measures are in force.

Temporary Prohibition of Use by Vehicles Order 2026

Date coming Into Force: 2 March 2026

This order was required because of the likelihood of danger to the public consequent upon work by Wessex Water to facilitate permanent reinstatement. This order will become operative on the 2 March 2026 for a maximum period of eighteen months. However, the closures may not be implemented for the whole of the period but only as necessitated by the works which is anticipated to be of 5 days in duration. Appropriate traffic signs will be displayed when the measures are in force.

Date coming Into Force: 5 March 2026

Will be to close, temporarily, to vehicles the lengths of roads specified in the Schedule to this Notice. Exemptions are included for emergency services, works access, works vehicles and as works permit for premises which may only be accessed via the closed section of road.

This order was required because of the likelihood of danger to the public consequent upon work by Bristol Water to replace leaking stop tap (150 LPH). This order will become operative on the 5 March 2026 for a maximum period of eighteen months. However, the closures may not be implemented for the whole of the period but only as necessitated by the works which is anticipated to be of 2 days in duration. Appropriate traffic signs will be displayed when the measures are in force.
