Wiltshire, Multiple Temporary Closures Due To Various Works

What is happening?

SECTION 14(1) OF THE ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984

Notice is hereby given that the Wiltshire Council intends to make Orders to close temporarily to all traffic: A) Tanners Lane (Part), Shrewton; from its property known as Fairways for a distance of approximately 20m in a northerly direction to enable Openreach to carry out pole replacement. Alternative route via Elston Lane – London Road – High Street – Maddington Street and vice versa. This Order will come into operation on 16 March 2026 and the closure will be required for 1 day. B) Longland, Salisbury; from its junction with A36 for its entire length to enable SGN to carry out gas main replacement and associated works. No alternative route is available. This Order will come into operation on 16 March 2026 and the closure will be required between the hours of 08:30 and 15:30 until 22 March 2026. Notice is hereby given that the Wiltshire Council has made Orders to close temporarily to all traffic: C) C305 (Part), East Knoyle; from its property known as Haddon Cottage to its property known as Milton Farm to enable Wessex Water to carry out main replacement and associated works. Alternative route via C305 (unaffected length) – C306 – A350 – C305 (unaffected length) and vice versa. This Order which follows an emergency notice will come into operation on 23 February 2026 and the closure will be required until 30 March 2026. D) C12 (Part), Berwick St John; from its junction with Back Lane for a distance of approximately 600m in a south easterly direction to enable Scottish and Southern Power Distribution to carry out overhead connections and associated works. Alternative route via C12 (unaffected length) – C64 – A30 – C12 (unaffected length) and vice versa. This Order will come into operation on 25 February 2026 and the closure will be required between the hours of 08:00 and 17:00 for 1 day. E) UC 872401 (Part), Sedgehill and Semley; from a point approximately 45m south west of its junction with Butlers Lane for a distance of approximately 100m in a south easterly direction to enable Openreach to carry out pole replacement works. Alternative route via UC 872401 (unaffected length) – C310 – A350 – Butlers Lane and vice versa. This Order will come into operation on 23 February 2026 and the closure will be required between the hours of 19:00 and 18:00 for 1 day. G) Milford Street (Part), Salisbury; from its junction with New Canal to its junction with Pennyfarthing Street to enable Wessex Water to carry out highway remedial defect and associated works. Alternative route via Endless Street – Salt Lane – St Edmunds Church Street – Pennyfarthing Street – Gigant Street – Trinity Street – Brown Street – St Ann Street – St Johns Street. Alternative route HGV via New Canal – High Street – Silver Street – Minster Street – Castle Street – A36 – A338 – Exeter Street – St Johns Street – Catherine Street. This Order will come into operation on 24 February 2026 and the closure will be required between the hours of 19:00 and 06:00 for 2 days. H) Station Road (Part), Sedgehill and Semley; from its junction with A350 to its property known as Semley Land Services Station to enable Wiltshire Council to carry out hand patching and associated works. Alternative route via Station Road (unaffected length) – C309 – C62 – A350 and vice versa. This Order will come into operation on 25 February 2026 and the closure will be required between the hours of 09:00 and 16:00 for 1 day. I) C64 (Part), Wylye; for a distance of approximately 50m either side of the level crossing to enable Network Rail to carry out level crossing and associated works. Alternative route via C64 (unaffected length) – B3089 – C277 – C276 – A303 – C10 – C64 (unaffected length) and vice versa. This Order will come into operation on 25 February 2026 and the closure will be required between the hours of 23:30 and 05:30 for 2 nights. J) Avonstone Close, Amesbury; from its junction with A345 for its entire length to enable Wiltshire Council to carry out reactive patching and other associated works. No alternative route is available. This Order will come into operation on 26 February 2026 and the closure will be required between the hours of 09:00 and 15:30 for 1 day. K) Water Lane (Part), Salisbury; from its junction with Fisherton Street to its property known as No.10 Water Lane to enable Scottish and Southern Power Distribution to carry out new electric supply connection and associated works. Alternative route via East Street – North Street – Fisherton Street and vice versa. This Order will come into operation on 23 February 2026 and the closure will be required until 27 February 2026. L) B3081 (Part), Tollard Royal; from its property known as Waterloo Farm for a distance of approximately 630m in a south easterly direction to enable Wiltshire Council to carry out carriageway resurfacing and associated works. Alternative route via B3081 (unaffected length) – A354 – A350 – A30 – C295 – B3081 (unaffected length) and vice versa. This Order which previously came into operation on 18 December 2025 will now recommence on 25 February 2026 and the closure will be required between the hours of 09:00 and 16:00 for 2 days. For further information please contact Tamar on behalf of Wiltshire Council on 07803 953739. M) Spray Leaze, Ludgershall; from its junction with Biddesden Lane for its entire length. N) St Nicholas Close, Ludgershall; from its junction with Spray Leaze for its entire length to enable Wiltshire Council to carry out carriageway resurfacing, replacement of existing road markings, adjustment of ironwork and associated works. No alternative route is available. This Order which previously came into operation on 16 December 2025 will now recommence on 23 February 2026 and the closure will be required between the hours of 09:30 and 16:30 for 4 days. Orders A) to J) will have a maximum duration of 18 months, Order K) will have a maximum duration of 6 months, Orders L) to N) has a maximum duration of 18 months. The closures and diversion routes will be clearly indicated by traffic signs. It is anticipated that the works will take the stated duration to complete depending upon weather conditions. Access will be maintained for residents and businesses where possible, although delays are likely due to the nature of the works.
