THE A5 TRUNK ROAD (NEAR BROWNHILLS)
(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER 2026
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that National Highways Limited (Company No. 9346363) has made an order on the A5 Trunk Road, at Brownhills, in the Metropolitan Borough of Walsall and in the County of Staffordshire, to enable utility works to be carried out.
The effect of the Order will be to close the eastbound carriageway of the A5 from its roundabout junction with Wilkin Road and the A452 Chester Road North, in Brownhills, to its junction with the A5195, in Staffordshire.
The work will be carried out between 20:00 hours and 06:00 hours and is expected to start on Tuesday 3 March 2026 and continue for one night. The Order will come into force on 24 February 2026.
Vehicles being used for police, fire and rescue authority or ambulance purposes, vehicles being used in connection with the works and winter maintenance vehicles will be exempt from the closure.
A diversion route via Chester Road North, Lichfield Road and Chase Road will be signed.
