Northgate, Cottingham - Temporary Prohibition Of Through Traffic For Works
What is happening?

SECTION 14 (1) TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF THROUGH TRAFFIC NORTHGATE, COTTINGHAM (LEVEL CROSSING)
Notice is hereby given that East Riding of Yorkshire Council intends not less than seven days from the date of this notice to make an Order, the effect of which will be to prohibit any vehicle from proceeding along Northgate, Cottingham (20 metres either side of the level crossing) commencing 23.45 hours Saturday 14 March 2026 until 08.30 hours Sunday 15 March 2026 to renew RTL posts.
The road closure is necessary to enable the works to be carried out in a manner consistent with ensuring the safety of the public. The Order is valid for 18 months, but it is anticipated that the works will be completed by 15 March 2026. The alternative route for traffic affected by the road closure will be via Northgate, West End Road, Baynard Avenue, South Street, Newgate Street, Thwaite Street, Thwaite Street Roundabout and New Village Road, Cottingham. The diversion route will be signed at the time of closure. The road will be closed to all traffic but access will be maintained for emergency vehicles.
