(Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2026
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that because works to renew bridge joints, are being or are proposed to be executed on or near the under mentioned highway(s); Leeds City Council has today made an Order, the effect of which is that: No person shall cause or permit any vehicle to travel along Leeds Rd to Pontefract Rd Link (in the Rothwell & Hunslet & Riverside Wards); over the Rothwell Haigh Interchange, at its junction with M1 Junction 44. Diversionary routes for vehicles affected by the closure will be available: Northbound – via Leeds Rd, Oulton La, Carlton La, Leadwell La, Leeds Rd, Wakefield Rd & Pontefract Rd. Southbound – via Pontefract Rd, Wakefield Rd, Leeds Rd, Leadwell La, Carlton La & Oulton La. Essential access to and from premises and for emergency vehicles will be maintained. The Order shall come into operation on Mon 23 Feb 2026 and will remain in force for a maximum period of 18 months or until the works are completed if earlier. NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that because gas main replacement works are being or are proposed to be executed on or near the under mentioned highway(s); Leeds City Council has today made an Order, the effect of which is that: No person shall cause or permit any vehicle to travel along Sandhurst Rd, Harehills, Leeds; at its junction with Harehills Lane. Diversionary routes for vehicles affected by the closure will be available via: Dorset Rd, Sandhurst Pl, Harehills La and via Dorset Rd, Dorset Terr, Harehills La. NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that because scaffolding works are being or are proposed to be executed on or near the under mentioned highways, Leeds City Council has today made an Order, the effect of which is that: 1. No person shall cause or permit any vehicle to travel along Lower Basinghall St, adjacent to property no. 17. 2. No person shall cause or permit any vehicle to travel along Albion St, between its junctions with Bond St and Boar La. In addition it will be necessary to reverse the following one-way systems: a. along Commercial St, from its junction with Albion St to Briggate. b. along Briggate, from its junction with Commercial St to its junction with Albion Pl. c. along Albion St, from its junction with Briggate to its junction with Albion St. Diversionary routes will be available. Essential access to and from premises and for emergency vehicles will be maintained. The Order shall come into operation on 23 Feb 2026 and will remain in force for a maximum period of 18 months or until the works are completed if earlier. The works are expected to take place on Lower Basinghall St, between 23 & 28 Feb and on Albion St: Between Mon 2 Mar & Sat 7 Mar 2026; from 20:00 hours in the evening until 04:30 hours the following morning. NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that because Yorkshire Water infrastructure improvement works are being or are proposed to be executed on or near the under mentioned highways; Leeds City Council has today made an Order, the effect of which is that: No person shall cause or permit any vehicle to travel along Plaid Row, Richmond Hill, Leeds; between its junctions with York Road and Shannon Street. Diversionary routes for vehicles affected by the closure will be available via: Shannon Street, Upper Accommodation Road, York Road & via York Road, Marsh Lane, Shannon Street. Essential access to and from premises and for emergency vehicles will be maintained. The Order shall come into operation on Fri 20 Feb 2026 and will remain in force for a maximum period of 18 months or until the works are completed if earlier. (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic & Use) Order 2026
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that because works associated with replacement of the railway bridge are to take place are proposed to be executed on or near the under mentioned highway(s); Leeds City Council intends (in not less than 7 days) to make an Order, the effect of which will be that: 1. No Person shall cause any vehicles to proceed on A656 Ridge Road in either direction between Phoenix Avenue and a point approximately 340m south of Church Lane (whilst the road closure is in place) 2. No Heavy Goods Vehicles weighing in excess of 7.5 Tonnes and above, shall proceed (except for access) on sections of A656 Ridge Road; Ridge Road, Micklefield and Great North Road, Micklefield or along the full lengths of Bar Lane, Garforth; B6137 Lidgett Lane, Garforth; B6137 Main Street, Garforth; Church Lane, Micklefield and Ninelands Lane, Garforth. 3. No person shall proceed on foot, cycle or horse on a section of A656 Ridge Road. 4. In addition, the existing Prohibition of Heavy Goods Vehicles weighing in excess of 7.5 Tonnes on a section of A642 Aberford Road and Wakefield Road, Garforth weighing in excess of 7.5 Tonnes between their junctions with the A656 Ridge Road and A63 Selby Road will be temporarily suspended.: Local diversion routes for affected vehicles will be signed as required, using A642 Aberford/Wakefield Road and A63 Selby Road. Diversion routes for affected pedestrians, cyclists and horse riders from one side of the railway to the other will be signed via Phoenix Avenue, Pit Lane, Great North Road and public footpaths Micklefield 16/Micklefield 3 and vice versa. Essential access to and from premises and for emergency vehicles will be maintained from the appropriate side of the closure. A diversionary route for vehicles affected by the closure will be available via: Cross Cliff Road, Cliff Road, Woodhouse Lane, Headingley Lane, Grosvenor Road, Grosvenor Mount and vice versa. The Order is intended to come into operation on Wed 4 March 2026 and will remain in force for a maximum period of 18 months or until the works are completed if earlier. NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that because works are to be undertaken to replace the bridgevcarrying the A656 Ridge Road over the Leeds to York railway line as part of thevTransPennine Route Upgrade, Leeds City Council intends (in not less than 7 days) to makevan Order In the interests of public safety, the effect of which will be that: No person shall proceedvalong Definitive Footpath Sturton Grange No.4 between its junction with the A656 Ridge Road to a point approximately 700m to the west, in the Garforth & Swillington Ward. A diversionary route is available and will be signed via Definitive Footpaths, Sturton Grange 3, Sturton Grange 7, Sturton Grange 2/Garforth 29 (Sturton Grange Lane),
Braemar Drive, New Sturton Lane, and vice-versa. It will still be possible to follow Definitive Footpath Garforth 17 And Sturton Grange 4 from New Sturton Lane to the closure point and back (approximately 500m each way). The Order is intended to come into operation on 2 March 2026 and to remain in force, for an initial period of 6 months. NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Leeds City Council, acting as the Local Traffic Authority (in exercise of its powers under Sections 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 124 and Part IV of Schedule 9 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the Traffic Management Act 2004 and all other enabling powers) proposes to make the above Orders, the effect of which will be to introduce the following restrictions with; in the Roundhay Ward: 1. No Waiting at any Time on sections of: Davies Ave; Old Park Rd; Parkwood Ave; Park Villas and West Park Dr East. 2. No Stopping on School Entrance Markings on sections of Old Park La, Roundhay.

(Speed Limits) (City Wide) Order 2025 –
Amendment Order No.3 2026. 20 MPH Speed Limit
Order – Garforth & Swillington Ward
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Leeds City Council, acting as the Local Traffic Authority and in exercise of its powers under Sections 81, 84, 85, 87, 89, 124 and Part IV of Schedule 9 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (‘the Act’), the Traffic Management Act 2004 and all other enabling powers, proposes to make the above Order, the effect of which will be to 1. Introduce a 20MPH Speed Limit on the whole of Richmond Row, Garforth. 2. Amend the existing 20MPH Speed Limit on Bar La/Ninelands La, to include the bridge over the railway line. 3. Extend the 20MPH Speed Limit on Ninelands La, up to the point where the 20mph Zone begins. 4. Convert the existing 20mph Zones on Station Court and Saxton Court into 20MPH Speed Limits.
