Suffolk, Multiple Temporary Road Closures & Weight Restriction Due To Various Works
What is happening?
SUFFOLK COUNTY COUNCIL
Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984: Section 14 - Temporary Closure Of Part Of The U4033 Constitution Hill And U4029 Warrington Road, Ipswich
Suffolk County Council has made an order closing the following roads in the following phases:
1. U4033 Constitution Hill, Ipswich from no. 31 to Dale Hall Lane
- U4029 Warrington Road, Ipswich from Constitution Hill to no. 31
2. U4033 Constitution Hill, Ipswich from Dale Hall Lane to Henley Road.
This is to facilitate a gas main replacement scheme. Other co-ordinated works may also take place during this period.
Access will be open for pedestrians and cyclists.
The diversion routes will be:
1. St Edmunds Road, Henley Road, the A1214, Graham Avenue and vice versa.
2. Henley Road, the A1214, Graham Avenue and vice versa.
It is intended that the closures will operate from:
1.14/02/2026 - 23/02/2026
2. 23/02/2026- 13/03/2026
If necessary, the order may remain in force for 18 months (or longer if extended by the Minister).

Temporary Closure Of Part Of The B1066 The Row, Hartest
Suffolk County Council has made an order closing the B1066 The Row, Hartest from Somerton Road to Blind Lane to facilitate installation of a fibre network. Other co-ordinated works may also take place during this period.
Access will be open for pedestrians and cyclists.
The diversion route will be: the B1066, the A143, the A1302, theA134, the A1092, the B1066 and vice versa.
It is intended that the closure will operate from 14/02/2026 - 22/02/2026 but, if necessary, the order may remain in force for 18 months (or longer if extended by the Minister).

Temporary Closure Of Part Of The C446 School Road, Coddenham
Suffolk County Council has made an order closing the C446 School Road, Coddenham from Fem Cottage to Haysel House to facilitate overlaying telecommunications infrastructure. Other co-ordinated works may also take place during this period.
Access will be open for pedestrians and cyclists.
The diversion route will be: Ipswich Road, Road from U4707 to U4729, Helmingham Road, the B1078 and vice versa.
It is intended that the closure will operate from 14/02/2026 - 22/02/2026 but, if necessary, the order may remain in force for 18 months (or longer if extended by the Minister).

Temporary Closure Of Part Of The U5959 School Road, Elmswell
Suffolk County Council has made an order closing the U5959 School Road, Elmswell from the junction with School Avenue for 144 metres eastbound to facilitate a new electricity connection. Other co-ordinated works may also take place during this period.
Access will be open for pedestrians and cyclists.
The diversion route will be: Church Road, New Road, The Street and vice versa.
It is intended that the closure will operate from 14/02/2026 - 27/02/2026 but, if necessary, the order may remain in force for 18 months (or longer if extended by the Minister).

Temporary Closure Of Part Of The C684 Nowton Road, Bury St Edmunds
Suffolk County Council has made an order closing the C684 Nowton Road, Bury St Edmunds from the junction with Plovers Way for 30 metres northbound and Bridleway 26 to facilitate a new sewer connection. Other co-ordinated works may also take place dunng this period.
Access will be open for pedestrians and cyclists.
The diversion route will be: Copper Lane, Bury Road, Lawshall Road, Bury Road, Green, Swanfield, the A143, the A1302, and vice versa.
It is intended that the closure will operate from 14/02/2026 - 22/02/2026 but, if necessary, the order may remain in force for 18 months (or longer if extended by the Minister).

Temporary Closure Of Part Of The U1726 Garden Lane, Manor Close, Rectory Lane And The U1728 Sandpit Lane, Worlingham
Suffolk County Council intends to make an order closing the following roads in the following phases:
1. U1726 Garden Lane, Worlingham from 62 metres southeast of The Bridles for
128 metres southbound.
2a. U1726 Manor Close, Worlingham from the junction with College Lane for 230 metres north eastbound.
2b. U1728 Sandpit Lane, Worlingham from 90 metres east of Sandpit Lane for 83 metres north eastbound.
This is to facilitate a gas main replacement. Other co-ordinated works may also take place during this period.
Access will be open for pedestrians and cyclists.
The diversion routes will be:
1. Manor Close, Rectory Lane, Lowestoft Road and vice versa.
2a. Rectory Lane, Lowestoft Road and vice versa.
2b. Benacre Road, Ellough Road, College Lane and vice versa.
3. Lowestoft Road, Garden Lane, Manor Close and vice versa.
It is intended that the closure will operate from 14/02/2026 - 27/03/2026 but, if necessary, the order may remain in force for 18 months (or longer if extended by the Minister).

Temporary Closure Of Part Of The C450 Main Road And The U4415 Church Lane, Somersham
Suffolk County Council has made an order closing the following roads:
- C450 Main Road, Somersham from the Sports Pavilion to Somersham Village Hall.
- U4415 Church Lane, Somersham from the junction with Main Road to The Pightle.
This is to facilitate civil works. Other co-ordinated works may also take place during this period.
Access will be open for pedestrians and cyclists.
The diversion route will be: Somersham Road, Little Blakenham, Leather Bottle Hill, Somersham Road, Bramford, the B1113, Grinstead Hill, the B1078. Willisham Road, Main Road, Willisham, Willisham Hall Road, Ipswich Road, Main Road, Nettlestead and vice versa.
It is intended that the closure will operate from 14/02/2026 - 22/02/2026 but, if necessary, the order may remain in force for 18 months (or longer if extended by the Minister).

Temporary Closure Of Part Of The B1063 Cropley Grove, Ousden
Suffolk County Council intends to make an order closing the B1063 Cropley Grove, Ousden from the road from the County Boundary to the A143 to Coes Cottage to facilitate fibre ducting works. Other co-ordinated works may also take place during this period.
Access will be open for pedestrians and cyclists.
The diversion route will be: the B1063, the A1304, the B1506, the B1085 and vice versa. It is intended that the closure will operate from 25/02/2026 - 27/02/2026 but, if necessary, the order may remain in force for 18 months (or longer if extended by the Minister).

Temporary Closure And Suspension Of 7.5 Tonne Weight Restriction On Part Of The C466 The Street, C495 Swan Hill, Chattisham, Copdock And Washbrook And Sproughton
Suffolk County Council intends to make an order closing the C466 The Street, Chattisham from Rivendell to Elm Cottage to facilitate tree trimming from power cables. Other co-ordinated works may also take place during this period.
Access will be open for pedestrians and cyclists.
The diversion route will be: The Street, Chattisham Chattisham Road, Hollow Road. Back Lane, The Street, Copdock and Washbrook, Swan Hill, the A1071, Duke Street, Clay Hill and vice versa.
For the duration of this closure there will be a suspension of the 7.5 tonne weight restriction on the:
- C495 Swan Hill, Copdock and Washbrook
- C495 Swan Hill, Sproughton.
It is intended that these measures will operate from 25/02/2026 - 27/02/2026 from 8:00am – 5:00pm. If necessary, the order may remain in force for 18 months (or longer if extended by the Minister).

Suffolk County Council intends to make an order closing the U8413 Ipswich Road, Elmsett from the junction with The Street to Potash Farm to facilitate civil works. Other co-ordinated works may also take place during this period.
Access will be open for pedestrians and cyclists.
The diversion route will be: Ipswich Road, Hadleigh Road, The Street and vice versa.
It is intended that the closure will operate from 25/02/2026 - 10/03/2026 but, if necessary, the order may remain in force for 18 months (or longer if extended by the Minister).
