TEMPORARY TRAFFIC REGULATION ORDERS 2026

(NORWICH)

Road Traffic Regulation Act, 1984

Norfolk County Council in exercise of its powers under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, hereby give notice that:

i) THEY PROPOSE TO MAKE Temporary Traffic Regulation Orders in respect of the following roads:

HELLESDON MILL LANE – from 120m west of its junction with Hellesdon Road for 30m westwards to facilitate gas main replacement works from 23rd February 2026 to 6th March 2026 (may continue until 17th April 2026). Alternative route is via: Hellesdon Road. The works promoter is Cadent.

WHITEHALL ROAD – from its junction with College Road to its junction with Portersfield Road to facilitate lead water pipe replacement scheme works from 23rd February 2026 to 2nd April 2026 (may continue until 2nd October 2026). Alternative route is via: Portersfield Road, Avenue Road, College Road and vice versa. The works promoter is Anglian Water.

ii) THEY HAVE MADE Temporary Traffic Regulation Orders in respect of the following roads:

CONSTITUTION HILL – A) B1150 Constitution Hill (south of the roundabout) from its junction with Wall Road to its junction with Chartwell Road Roundabout and B) B1150 Constitution Hill (north of the roundabout) from its junction with Chartwell Road Roundabout to its junction with School Lane to facilitate carriageway surfacing works from 16th to 20th February 2026 (may continue until 3rd April 2026). Alternative route is via: A) Constitution Hill, Magdalen Road, Sprowston Road, Chartwell Road and vice versa B) Constitution Hill, B1150 North Walsham Road, A1270 Broadland Northway, A1151 Wroxham Road, Chartwell Road and vice versa (Norwich, Sprowston). The works promoter is Norfolk County Council.

MARL PIT LANE – from its junction with Dereham Road to its junction with Knowland Grove to facilitate remedial works between 19:00 and 06:00 from 16th to 21st February 2026 (may continue until 4th April 2026). Alternative route is via: Dereham Road, Sweet Briar Road, Hellesdon Hall Road, Hellesdon Road, Marl Pit Lane. The works promoter is Norfolk County Council.

MOUSEHOLD AVENUE – from 100m west of its junction with Lavengro Road for 30m westwards to facilitate the replacement of lead water supply pipe from 18th to 20th February 2026 (may continue until 3rd April 2026). Alternative route is via: Mousehold Avenue, Gurney Road, Mousehold Lane, Sprowston Road, Silver Road. The works promoter is Anglian Water.

MOUSEHOLD STREET AND HASSETT CLOSE – A) Mousehold Street from 40m southwest of its junction with Hassett Close for 80m eastwards and B) Hassett Close from its junction with Mousehold Street for 40m north-westwards to facilitate gas connection works, traffic (constituting any class of vehicle) over the Roads A–B shall be temporarily prohibited to park, stop, load, and/or unload from 16th February to 2nd March 2026 (may continue until 13th April 2026). Alternative route is via: N/A. The works promoter is Cadent.

NETHERWOOD GREEN FOOTPATH – Netherwood Green Footpath From Rear Of 99 To West Side Of 50 from its most south-eastern junction with Netherwood Green for 10m north-westwards to facilitate new connection works from 19th to 25th February 2026 (may continue until 8th April 2026). Alternative route is via: Netherwood Green Footpath From Rear Of 99 To West Side Of 50, Netherwood Green, Netherwood Green Footpath From West Side Of 99 To North Side Of 105 and vice versa. The works promoter is Anglian Water.

WOLFE ROAD – from its junction with Wellesley Avenue North to its junction with Quebec Road to facilitate the installation of a speed bump from 16th to 20th February 2026 (may continue until 3rd April 2026). Alternative route is via: Wellesley Avenue North, Plumstead Road, Quebec Road. The works promoter is Norfolk County Council.

Unless otherwise stated, the effect of these Orders will be to prohibit the use by traffic of the named road(s)/ footpath(s). In the event of the start date being delayed the new start date will be displayed on site in advance. Where an Order is for a reason other than works it is because of the likelihood of danger to the public or of serious damage to the road/footpath. Anticipated dates are stated but the Orders may continue until the end date where necessary or required. The Orders are revoked on the end date or on the actual date of removal of the prohibition/ restriction where earlier without further notice. If necessary, the restrictions can have a maximum duration of 18 months or 6 months in respect of footpaths, cycle paths, bridleways, restricted byways, and byways open to all traffic (BOAT). Penalty: £1000 maximum fine on conviction and/or endorsement for contravention.
