M27 (Junctions 4 to 9), Hampshire – Variation Order for Temporary Speed Limit Changes

TEMPORARY TRAFFIC RESTRICTIONS

Notice is hereby given that National Highways Limited has varied The M27 Motorway (Junctions 4 to 9) (Temporary Restriction and Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2024 (a), originally made on 29th February 2024, and The M27 Motorway (Junctions 4 to 9) (Temporary Restriction and Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2024 Variation Order 2024(b), originally made on 2nd May 2024.

The effect of the variation to the original Order is to change the extent of the westbound 50 Mph and 60 Mph speed limit provisions as follows:

From- “the westbound carriageway of the M27 between a point 100 metres west of the centreline of Coal Park Lane overbridge and a point 180 metres west of Monks Wood Close overbridge”

To – “the westbound carriageway of the M27 between a point 50 metres west of the centreline of Botley Road (A3051) overbridge and a point 180 metres west of Monks Wood Close overbridge”;

The effect of the variation to the Variation Order is to change the extent of the eastbound 50 Mph and 60 Mph speed limit provisions as follows:

From- “the eastbound carriageway of the M27 between a point 100 metres west of the centreline of Hadrian Way overbridge and the tip of the nosing at the entry slip at Junction 8 (A3024)” to –

To – “the eastbound carriageway of the M27 between a point 390 metres east of the centreline of Hadrian Way overbridge and a point 80 metres south-east of the centreline of Dodwell Lane overbridge”;

The Order will come into force on 14th February 2026 and continue until completion of the works, at which point both this order and the originals will be formally revoked, as required by the terms of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 Section 15(2).
