Norwich, Amendments To Controlled Parking Zone & Prohibition Of Waiting Restrictions

THE NORFOLK COUNTY COUNCIL
(Norwich, Various Roads) Traffic Regulation Orders 2026
The Norfolk County Council propose to make the following Orders under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984:

The Norfolk County Council, (Norwich, Various Roads)

(South-Western Controlled Parking Zone) Amendment Order 2026

The effect of this Order is to:

1. Amend Schedule 3 of The City of Norwich (Controlled Parking Zone) (South-Western Controlled Parking Zone) Traffic Regulation Order 1996 (as amended) to read as follows:

Road - Description

Portersfield Road (North Side) (Zone P)
From a point opposite the boundary of Nos. 105/105a Portersfield Road to a point 16 metres east of the boundary of Nos. 8/10 Portersfield Road.

Inserting the following reference:

Road - Description

U42231 Portersfield Road (North Side) (Zone P)
From a point opposite the boundary of Nos. 105/105a Portersfield Road to a point 11 metres east of the boundary of Nos. 8/10 Portersfield Road.

2. Amend Schedule 6 of The City of Norwich (Controlled Parking Zone) (South-Western Controlled Parking Zone) Traffic Regulation Order 1996 (as amended) by:

Removing the following reference:

Road - Description

Portersfield Road (North Side) (Zone P)
From a point opposite and 3 metres east of the boundary of Nos. 8/10 Portersfield Road eastwards for a distance of 13 metres.

Inserting the following reference:

Road - Description

U42231 Portersfield Road (South Side) (Zone P)
From a point opposite and 3 metres east of the boundary of Nos. 8/10 Portersfield Road eastwards for a distance of 10 metres.

3. Amend Schedule 97 of The City of Norwich (Controlled Parking Zone) (South-Western Controlled Parking Zone) Traffic Regulation Order 1996 (as amended) by:

Removing the following reference:

Road - Description

B1108 Earlham Road (North Side) (Zone P)
From a point 16 metres west of the eastern back of highway line of the U40012 Edinburgh Road westwards for a distance of 24 metres.

Inserting the following reference:

Road - Description

B1108 Earlham Road (North Side) (Zone P)
From a point 28 metres west of the eastern back of highway line of the U40012 Edinburgh Road westwards for a distance of 12 metres.

The effect of these amendments is to move the permit parking and limited waiting parking places as specified above. This change is taking place to allow for the proposed prohibition of waiting restrictions, as set out below, to be introduced.

Portersfield Road and The Avenues) (Prohibition of Waiting) Order 2026

The effect of this Order is to:

1. Amend The City of Norwich (Controlled Parking Zone) (South-Western Controlled Parking Zone) Traffic Regulation Order 1996 (as amended) (the "1996 Order") by inserting the following references:

Road - Description

Earlham Road (North Side) (Zone P)
From the eastern back of highway line of Edinburgh Road westwards for 1.6 metres.

Portersfield Road (North Side) (Zone P)
From a point 1.6 metres east of the boundary of Nos. 8/10 Portersfield Road to a point 6 metres south-west of the boundary of Nos. 6/8 Portersfield Road.

Dereham Road (South Side) (Zone P)
From a point 2 metres west of the boundary of No. 220 Dereham Road and No. 2 Helena Road to the boundary of No. 218 Dereham Road and No. 1 Helena Road.

Introduce a prohibition of waiting at any time restriction along the following lengths of road:

Road - Description

U42209 College Road (East Side)
From a point 17.4 metres south of its junction with the B1108 Earlham Road southwards for a distance of 9 metres.

B1108 Earlham Road (North Side)
From a point 13 metres west of the centreline of its junction with the U40012 Edinburgh Road westwards for a distance of 13 metres.

U42231 Portersfield Road (North Side)
From a point 291 metres east of the centreline of its junction with U42209 College Road to a point 5 metres east.

(South Side)
From a point 8 metres west of the centreline of its junction with U42238 Warwick Street to a point 3 metres west.

A1074 Dereham Road (West Side)
From a point 18 metres east of the centreline of its junction with U40019 Havelock Road eastwards for a distance of 27 metres.
