What is happening?

SANDWELL METROPOLITAN BOROUGH COUNCIL

The Borough Council of Sandwell (Springfield Lane, Rowley Regis) (Temporary Road Closure) Order 2026 intends to temporarily prohibit vehicles from proceeding along Springfield Lane, which will be closed from the southern boundary of property No.111 to south of its junction with Bridge Field Walk. Access to any affected frontages will be maintained, but only when safety permits. Traffic will be diverted Vale Road, Darby End Road, St Peter’s Road, Withymoor Road, Gawne Lane, Doulton Road, Dudley Road, Springfield Lane & vice versa. The maximum duration is 18 months, but the work is expected to be completed by 16/03/2026, effective from 02/03/2026 (24hrs). Purpose – to facilitate access for traffic light installation by Stourbridge Paving Company on behalf of Sandwell MBC. The Borough Council of Sandwell (New Gas Street, West Bromwich) (Temporary Road Closure) Order 2026 intends to temporarily prohibit vehicles from proceeding via New Gas Street, from its junction with the entrance to The Ridgacre Pub to its junction with Bells Moor Road. A diversion route for traffic approaching from a westerly direction will be signed via New Swan Lane, Black Country New Road (westbound), Navigation Roundabout, Black

County New Road (eastbound), Richmond Road, Dial Lane, Ebenezer Street, Hawkestone Crescent, Pemberton Road, Finchpath Road & Meyrick Road. Vehicles approaching from an easterly direction will be advised to follow the signage at Albion Roundabout then follow the diversion route signed above. The maximum duration is 18 months, but the work is expected to be completed by 06/03/2026, effective from 02/03/2026. Purpose – to facilitate the installation of a new gas service to The Premier Inn, West Bromwich. For more information contact Joanne Wassell of D & G Utilities – 01709 762202. The Borough Council of Sandwell (Church Square, Oldbury) (Temporary Road Closure) Order 2026 intends to temporarily prohibit vehicles from proceeding via Church Square, from its junction with Birmingham Street to its junction with the access road to Canal Street (south-eastern side of Church Square). A diversion route will be signed for access to the north-westerly side of Church Square via Birmingham Street, Halesowen Street & Canal Street. The one-way section of Church Square which is closed will be revoked for the duration of the works to facilitate supervised access to affected premises. The maximum duration is 18 months, but the work is expected to be completed by 06/03/2026, effective from 02/03/2026. Purpose – to facilitate the installation of a new electricity supply by National Grid Electricity Distribution. The Borough Council of Sandwell (Rabone Lane, Smethwick) (Temporary Road Closure) Order 2026 intends to temporarily prohibit vehicles from proceeding along Rabone Lane, which will be closed from the junction of Rabone Park (northern side) to the ‘OUT’ gate for Unimetals (southern side). Access to any affected frontages will be maintained, but only when safety permits. Traffic will be diverted via Cornwall Road, Downing Street, Bridge Street North, Rolfe Street & vice versa. A second diversion route will be signed via Foundry Lane, Wellington Street, Winson Green Road, Heath Street, Cranford Street, Soho Way, Soho Street & vice versa. The road closure will be in operation on the following dates: a) 3rd March 2026 (9:30am - 3:30pm) & b) 13th - 15th March 2026 (24hr). The maximum duration is 18 months, but the work is expected to be completed by 15/03/2026, effective from 03/03/2026. Purpose – to facilitate access for maintenance works associated with a telecom’s cabinet and the replacement of a pole by WHP Telecoms Ltd. The Borough Council of Sandwell (Hollies Drive, Wednesbury) (Temporary Road Closure) Order 2026 intends to temporarily prohibit vehicles from proceeding via Hollies Drive, from its junction with the extended boundary of No’s 16/17 to the extended boundary of No’s 15/15a Hollies Drive. No diversion route will be signed as Hollies Drive is a cul-de-sac. Access will be maintained when safe to do so and will be managed on site. The maximum duration is 18 months, but the work is expected to be completed by
