(EDWARD DRIVE, WAKEFIELD)
(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER (NO 44) 2026
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Council of the City of Wakefield has made an Order on traffic management grounds for laying of a new telecoms duct to be carried out as follows:
ROAD TO BE CLOSED: Edward Drive, Wakefield at the junction of Leeds Road. The Order shall also have the effect of closing any roads at their junctions the closed length of Edward Drive.
ALTERNATIVE ROUTES: Edward Drive, George Street, Church Lane, Leeds Road & vice versa.
PERIOD OF CLOSURE: From and including 23rd February 2026 to 25th February 2026, or until completion of the works, whichever is sooner.
Access to the premises on the closed length of road will be maintained whenever possible.
(SLACK LANE, NEWMILLERDAM)
(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER (NO 45) 2026
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Council of the City of Wakefield has made an Order on traffic management grounds to locate and repair damaged/ blocked telecoms duct to be carried out as follows:-
ROAD TO BE CLOSED: Slack Lane, Newmillerdam. The Order shall also have the effect of closing any roads at their junctions the closed length of Slack Lane.
ALTERNATIVE ROUTES: No diversion. Residents access to be maintained where possible.
PERIOD OF CLOSURE: From and including 23rd February 2026 to 25th February 2026 road closed between 08.00 hours to 18.00 hours or until completion of the works, whichever is sooner.
Access to the premises on the closed length of road will be maintained whenever possible.
(KINGSWAY CLOSE, OSSETT)
(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER (NO 60) 2026
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Council of the City of Wakefield intend to make an Order on traffic management grounds for gas mains replacement to be carried out as follows:-
ROAD TO BE CLOSED: Kingsway Close, Ossett from the junction of Kingsway, side of No. 246. The Order shall also have the effect of closing any roads at their junctions the closed length of Kingsway Close.
ALTERNATIVE ROUTES: Kingsway Close alternative exit onto Kingsway
PERIOD OF CLOSURE: From and including 9th March 2026 to 18th March 2026 or until completion of the works, whichever is sooner.
Access to the premises on the closed length of road will be maintained whenever possible.

(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER (NO 62) 2026
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Council of the City of Wakefield intend to make an Order on traffic management grounds for gas mains replacement to be carried out as follows:
ROAD TO BE CLOSED: Aberford Road, Stanley from the junction of Finkin Lane to outside 69 Aberford Road. The Order shall also have the effect of closing any roads at their junctions the closed length of Aberford Road.
ALTERNATIVE ROUTES: Novale Way and Aurora Drive
PERIOD OF CLOSURE: From and including 9th March 2026 to 20th March 2026 or until completion of the works, whichever is sooner.
Access to the premises on the closed length of road will be maintained whenever possible.

ROAD TO BE CLOSED: Beckbridge Way, Normanton. The Order shall also have the effect of closing any roads at their junctions the closed length of Beckbridge Way.

PERIOD OF CLOSURE: From and including 8th March 2026 to 9th March 2026 or until completion of the works, whichever is sooner.

ROAD TO BE CLOSED: Broomhall Avenue, Wakefield, outside number 6a. The Order shall also have the effect of closing any roads at their junctions the closed length of Broomhall Avenue.
ALTERNATIVE ROUTES: Broomhall Avenue, Broomhall Crescent, Broomhall Avenue & vice versa
PERIOD OF CLOSURE: From and including 11th March 2026 to 17th March 2026 or until completion of the works, whichever is sooner.

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Council of the City of Wakefield intend to make an Order on traffic management grounds for electric connection works for Northern Powergrid to be carried out as follows:-
ROAD TO BE CLOSED: Denby Dale Road, Wakefield one way closure from Charlesworth Way to Ings Road, outside Raines House to outside unit 6. The Order shall also have the effect of closing any roads at their junctions the closed length of Denby Dale Road.
ALTERNATIVE ROUTES: Charlesworth Way, Ings Road.
PERIOD OF CLOSURE: From and including 9th March 2026 to 18th March 2026 or until completion of the works, whichever is sooner.

(TEMPORARY 30MPH SPEED LIMIT) ORDER (NO 70) 2026
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Council of the City of Wakefield intend to make an Order on traffic management grounds to allow for construction works involving junction improvement and removing overtaking lane between Rayner Street and Addingford Close to be carried out as follows:
ROADS AFFECTED: Southfield Lane, Horbury from Daw Lane to Addingford Lane.
SPEED LIMIT: Temporary 30 MPH speed limit.
PERIOD OF ORDER: From and including 9th March 2026 to 8th June 2026 or until completion of the works, whichever is sooner.
(SANDAL CLIFF, WAKEFIELD)
(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER (NO 72) 2026
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Council of the City of Wakefield intend to make an Order on traffic management grounds for BT works to replace a pole to be carried out as follows:-
ROAD TO BE CLOSED: Sandal Cliff, Wakefield. The Order shall also have the effect of closing any roads at their junctions the closed length of Sandal Cliff.
ALTERNATIVE ROUTES: N/A. Residents access to be maintained where possible.
PERIOD OF CLOSURE: From and including 10th March 2026 between 08.00 hours and 18.00 hours or until completion of the works, whichever is sooner.
Access to the premises on the closed length of road will be maintained whenever possible.

(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER (NO 73) 2026
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Council of the City of Wakefield intend to make an Order on traffic management grounds for new connection to be carried out as follows:
ROAD TO BE CLOSED: Clifford Avenue, Wakefield for approximately 50 metres. The Order shall also have the effect of closing any roads at their junctions the closed length of Clifford Avenue.
ALTERNATIVE ROUTES: Milnthorpe Avenue, Manygates Lane, Duke of York Avenue & vice versa
PERIOD OF CLOSURE: From and including 10th March 2026 to 10th April 2026 or until completion of the works, whichever is sooner.
Access to the premises on the closed length of road will be maintained whenever possible.
